My husband and I almost always play together and we will occasionally get a bad random on a strike. But last night on the weekly we got the dumbest douche I've seen yet. Both my husband and I were warlocks. This douche was a titan. First he wanted to run through everything and actually started shooting me because I was killing enemies. Then we get to the boss room and he decides to camp on the platform where he can't be revived and then DIES from the lone minotaur that ALWAYS spawns when someone camps there! We brought the boss to within an inch of death and I decided to quit and rejoin to revive dumb*ss so he could collect engrams and drops from the boss. And he was afk! Then he sends us hate mail about how terrible we are and how easy it is to kill the boss from the platform (then why did he die lol) and our bad loadout. Because we use strikes to level up weapons and armor. What an idiot lol.
Share your stupid random stories!
Edit: lots of good stories! And my random last night admitted to watching netflix after dying.
Edit #2: I don't care how people play. If he wanted to camp up top, idc as long as he helps out. But there's ONE enemy up there! No excuse to die. If he was going to have trouble he should have come down where he could be easily revived.
Edit #3: 100 replies! And trending! 😄
Edit#4: Some have said we should have stuck with our random. Others say he should have followed the group. I agree with the latter. If you are in a random group and the other two players have a different play style it is beneficial to follow them. If I am in with two runners, for instance, it is in my best interests to run. Or find a different group.

Editado por improv64: 9/2/2015 5:56:59 PMI had a guy this week that would stand in my titan bubble at the spider tank. Now sometimes it's glitchy and the tank shot kills you even in the bubble. I understand when this happens once or twice to people. But this guy died at least five times inside my bubble while the other two of us jumped away. It was like...dude...move. And he wasn't afk, he was jumping out to snipe and back in. Edit: Oops, mixed up some games. The guy that died a lot still held his own on kills which is cool. And we finished really quick anyway, I just thought it was funny.

This weeks strike was a little glitchy. My husband was killed by two regular shots in the foot lol. I also saw some enemies kinda disappearing and then reappearing in new locations. Not teleporting, it was like they were where they could have been if they walked, but they didn't walk. Laggy maybe? I've been noticing things like this for the past couple of weeks sometimes in general gameplay.

1 RespuestaThe cheese is easy af but that titan is a noob if he cant defend him/herself from the ad spawn. I'd rather fight nexus legit, it's more fun that way.
-
One got left, then he other one did. Ended up soloing the hardest weekly of my life. Which was yesterday.

Editado por IceSki117: 8/29/2015 9:44:10 PMThankfully I never have this happen to me. If I ever see someone just standing there I will get myself to a safe spot and either wait for them to catch up or send them a message to figure out what they are doing and tell them to start helping and most of the time its just a case of they had to go do something. However if I don't get a response I don't mind sitting there and waiting for them to either leave or get kicked to orbit from the inactive timer, which I haven't had to do yet.

Goes to show you, some people are useless no matter what.

1 RespuestaNot during this week but a while ago my brother and I was doing the nexus strike and we always fight up top on the platform so it doesn't take so long. Well we get up to the boss and my brother and I pull out our icebreakers and began shooting the boss when all of a sudden I'm falling to the ground. My brother told me over the mic that the idiot pushed me off intentionally and when he tried hitting him my brother was able to melee and knock the idiot down to the bottom with me.

2 RespuestasMy friend and I had a similar situation as yours EXCEPT me and my buddy 2 manned the strike. This douche nozzle joined at the Nexus checkpoint and died without getting a single kill. We waited until he left. I don't help random noobs. I only help my nooby friends and noobs in my party. I got no love for matchmade noobs.
-
I always stay up top on the nexus. If everyone stays up there, the fight maybe lasts 5 mins. I just find it easier to do. I would rather face one enemy every minute or so rather than a hundred the whole time.

2 RespuestasEditado por Razza: 8/29/2015 5:08:13 PMI had random that wouldn't help take out the tank on the Cerberus strike back when it was the weekly. I died and switched the camera over to him... He was hiding in a cave, aiming straight up and spinning around. My gf dies next.. Well sure enough he's still doing the same crap. I'm thinking " ok well we can't rez and we can't leave the strike... We would have to turn our consoles off." I send the guy a few messages and he finally revives us. This went on for a while and long story short, he was rewarded for putting in no effort aside from reviving my gf and I so we could do all the work.

1 RespuestaSo I was doing the nexus with one of my buddies and the guy we got matched up with was a 33 Titan. The first thing he did was shoulder charge the nexus :/

3 RespuestasI remember doing the Archon Priest for a Heroic strike. It was just me and some other guy with no one else joining at any other point in the strike. We got to the door and he decides to camp at the back on the cliffs and do nothing like an asshole. So I decided to not do anything as well and sit up there with him until he actually helps. He goes into a corner and sends me a message saying "brb bro goin to the shower". I instantly didn't believe him, and my hunch was right. He stayed in that corner, sat down, and his character's head was still moving, meaning he was still there. He lied about going to the shower as a ruse so I would go on without him. Absolutely pathetic. After about half an hour, he finally decided to help and we got through the three waves. He was actually bothered to kill all of the enemies on the way to the Archon Priest's lair. However, when we both got there, he sat down at the entrance near the rocks out of danger, and didn't help at all. Like before, I sat with him until he got bored. After another half an hour, he actually gave a crap and killed all of the enemies with me. Then the Archon Priest came out, and as usual, he sat in a corner and did nothing, and instead of sitting with him, I was trying to kill the boss. I died after being overwhelmed with enemies after getting him to half health. The douchebag cam up to my dead body, tea-bagged me and then shot himself with a rocket, so we had to start the boss fight again. After that, he proceeded to leave the area completely and work his way backwards though the strike, so I followed him for both times he did it, which reset the boss's health both times, starting again. The next hour was just him sitting underneath the platform at the other end of the area, which was the original nightfall spot, with him then giving up and helping me shoot the boss normally and eventually killing him. Overall, the strike took about 3 hours to complete because I refuse to let some asshole douchebag breeze through the strike.

1 RespuestaI had a guy who went AFK just before Phogoth. I decided that I wasn't carrying him so I just left
-
I had a terrible this week as well. Played a round with rAndoms and I could hardly believe we wiped at the Nexus.

2 RespuestasWas playing The Devils Lair strike, there was a 34 and a 24, the 24 and I did most of the strike, and the 34 was circling the spawn area killing enemies. I sent him a message asking if he was going to participate in the strike, we finish the strike (Me practically soloing it because the 24 had no idea what he was doing), and I get a message saying "Thanks for completing the strike". Little shits like that need to learn a lesson.
-
Had the same thing happen to me except with a Warlock. I message them saying try coming down, youll improve your skill and not die so much, replied foul mouthed. So i wiped and pushed them off the edge, t bagged their ghost, and left.

2 RespuestasOh my gosh. I do the weekly almost every week for my dad who is an over-the-road truck driver and I always get the meanest blueberries. They are always the worst, constantly sending messages and stuff afterwards when, most times, I do all the work. -_-; Rude. But I rarely do it on my account anymore on PS4 because I don't need to, but on XBox I certainly need the coins because I just started last month. XD

Edit 4: that's what I do.

People have different play styles but insist on degrading others when their styles differ. A Fireteam is supposed to act like a team. You will always have to deal with that since matchmaking was placed in weeklies. As far as the Nexus is concerned, it can be fought from above or below. You all must agree on location. I use both but solo from above since the Minotaur is just a pest and predictably dies resupplying my ammo. My policy with matchmaking: majority rules. I follow what the other two players do. Makes no difference to me as I do all missions solo with ease anyway. Good luck to you and your husband. Nice to see you play Destiny as team.
-
2 Respuestashe should've followed. I think that's the reason they chose 3 member fire teams, as it forces the decision based on what the majority does. I'll speed thru strikes all the time, but if I notice even just one person isn't following I'll turn around and start shooting mobs. if you work together, you'll likely succeed together

1 RespuestaIf you try to cheese anything other than a nightfall you should move on to a simpler game, like marbles or jacks.
-
1 RespuestaBasically the same story as you OP, it happens a lot
-
1 Respuestaheh I've never used that spot. I always jump down. For me, if the 2 other guys wanna rush, then we all rush. If we want to kill everything, then we do it.
-
1 RespuestaYup you should always stick with the group. I prefer killing my way through, but if I do want to speed run I don't leave anybody behind. Same goes for the camping up top strategy. I don't mind using it, but if your teammates jump down, no point staying up there. I don't like people with the personality that you have to speed run. People should be free to play as they want, it honestly doesn't take that much longer to kill the enemies, and you get more chances for legendary engrams.
