Rare occasions but the Nepal is a good example, they may donate to charities, again, occasionally
Bringing in Voice actors (Although this could technically fall under staff wages)
Art and design (Again staff wages)
Upgrading company technology and/or devices/services
Building for the upkeep of Bungie HQ
Good job guys. Here's the conclusion that we can come to: Bungie is a company made up of people who need money. They need money because they have lives and families and needs. They want nice stuff just like you do. They get their money from their jobs at Bungie. Bungie gets money from making games. They need the money for all that you see up there and paying Activision, another company of people.
People are also not perfect. They make mistakes.
Moral of the story: Bungie is not out to get you. There are thousands of people to pay and feed, and expenses to pay and bills to pay. They don't drive Lamborghini's, and there isn't a conspiracy revolving around Gjallarhorn. Their sole purpose is not to make you sad, and poor. They make mistakes, and try their best to fix them.
Can we stop thinking of Bungie as some illuminati government agency who's goal is to enslave humanity through video games?
Can we just play the game?
Edit: No, I'm not riding the D. And this is not to say that Destiny is perfect, it's not. This post is directed at those who only think that all Bungie cares about is making our lives worse by draining our bank accounts.

Nope. I'm pretty sure Bungie is made up of lizard people who want to take my money and eat it like the sick reptilians they are.

1 Respuesta
Can we stop thinking of Bungie as some illuminati government agency who's goal is to enslave humanity through video games?
That would be the company that makes Candy Crush. ;)

30 RespuestasThe biggest element in this whole supposition is that Bungie gets money from making games. Which is not true. Bungie gets money from customers. How do you get money from customers? Well, there's two main strategies to legally transacting money from people: 1. Make them happy 2. Exploit them You can inspire repeat business by over delivering and focusing on customer satisfaction. CD Projekt Red released loads of skins, gear and missions as free DLC and update their game at their own expense, free of charge to the customer. People know that if they but a game from CDPR they will get great support. The bottom line is CDPR sees their fans as a privilege. Bungie/Activision on the other hand is more exploitative. They know their product is top quality so they push as hard as they can to see how much the customer will endure. The class specific emotes and exotics are a good example, seeing if customers would repurchase content twice in order to get exclusive items (while CDPR was giving away more substantial content for free). When fans revolted, Bungie changed their mind. Their game design, disallowing trading and such is about inspiring repeat play through deprivation where as CDPR inspires repeat play through giving free content. The bottom line is Bungie/Activision sees their fans as a resource. I'm not hating, both are legitimate forms of generating revenue, the point I'm trying to make is that not looking passed the concept that "Bungie/Activision is a company who needs to generate profit to survive" is incredibly naive. Being critical of how a company hits the bottom line is a sign of a healthy and intuitive consumer. Trying to excuse exploitative behaviour based on the need to pay employees is the opposite of that.

Don't be DUMB! The industry feeds off the lives of gamers. Bungie is a pawn of ACTIVISION. They push bungie to release content faster than they can shit out there lunch. So shut up about bungie. It's companies like EA AND ACTIVISION THAT PUSH DEVELOPERS TO RELEASE CONTENT BECAUSE THATS JUST THE ROUTINE, every year every 3rd quarter of the year.
-
Now make one about activision

I can't help it.....must say it........ Is this why we have to throw money at the screen? Sorry I agree with you just couldn't resist.

Not hating on your post just try to make it a more persuasive thing to read I felt like I was reading from my little brothers homework using "people" and "buying things" because they "have lives"... Seriously?

5 RespuestasYou know it's amazing though. It's amazing how fanboys can just let there companies get away with anything. That goes for you. Do you know much money they made based off of the lies they left lingering without informing people that it's going to change. Alot of them and based on your post you didn't follow this game when it was being made. Sure a company needs to make money but again go look at how much money they gained from the hype. They gained so much money that they could actually give us free dlc for the next game. But they won't do it. Wanna know why? Money. That care about you or anybody else expect for the money. Remember the numerous backlash and hate destiny got when first came out? About 85% of it was justified because bungie lied and wanted the money. As for the cut out content that still stands as it. Go look up a video about how you we're able to glitch into the tdb and poe missions in beta. Something happened to destiny that year Activision aka the devil gave the contract to bungie. But when we asked bungie about the cut out content they did a obama and beated around the bush. Still to this we got no straight answers, broken promises and over charged dlc that should've been in the game.
-
2 RespuestasGreat post. But in the list, they don't use money to make new DLCs. Activision cut the game to peices, and there is nothing new to make really. In fact, every DLC that will ever be released is on ur disc right now. It is just that you are denied acess. And for those of you that thinks this splendid post doesn't make any sense, blame activision.
-
Good game. We can also play a version where "Activision" is substituted for "Bungie", and it's equally vaid.
-
Thank you, someone understands.
-
None of this works though when you get activision involved to wreck havoc
-
Didnt they make the entire development costs for the game back with preoders alone?
