Edit 1: The salt in the replies is real, keep it coming!
Edit 2: All I am trying to say is that if you delete all your weapons you might not be a 34 when you load up TTK. That's it.
Edit 3: It seems the salt has dissipated. The children can come out of hiding now.

Why would he be 29? If he has gear equipped that makes him level 34, lower level shit in the vault will NOT impact his level. Confirmed.

Wow you must be really dense man, Bungie is looking at the weapons in your inventory and in your vault to determine the STARTING level you are in TTK. I'm not talking about light or anything else. All I'm saying is that if you delete everything you have now, Bungie said that even if you're a 34 you can still be a 30 when TTK drops if you dismantled everything

Hey dumb ass let me shine some light on you. The stuff in your vault will determine your LIGHT LEVEL along with the gear in your inventory. The armour YOU HAVE EQUIPPED when TTK drops if you were level 34 you will be LEVEL 34 AS IT DETERMINES YOUR EXPERIENCE LEVEL. LIGHT AND EXPERIENCE LEVEL ARE NOW TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. And like he said. All the gear in your vault and all that will be accounted for to determine your level as in saying that the gear in your vault and all that will be spread across all characters in order to determine the levels.

As I said. The armour you have equipped on your character at the moment if it is equipped during the taken king, the light level it grants you will cause you to be the experience level of that in year two. Therefore if I have 3 34's they will be experience level 34 when TTK drops. On the other hand, all gear will have light on it adding to your light score which gives you more defense and attack. What they were saying is they will acount for all the gear that you have and what LIGHT LEVEL you will be.

Again, not one of you morons have explained to me how my level can do down. You keep saying level 29, so please, expand and explain. How can I go from a 34 to 29 if my vault is empty?

Light & levels are separate in ttk, light will no longer contribute to your level. Your level will now be determined by xp ingame. You can double check the update if you wish but i think im correct.

Yeah, but light affects your current level and your current level affects your starting level in TTK. If you have your best shit equipped on 9/14, the shit in your vault won't make a bit of difference come 9/15. There is literally no reason to hold onto legendaries you're using or keeping.

The update says that they will also take your vault content into account aswell so dont delete anything. Im not sure how this shit is going to work tbh, im so glad im not buying it.
