I don't feel like going to level 40, just like in other games like borderlands or cod where the grind lasts forever to reach master prestige and level 70, each level taking longer and longer. I would be ok with more levels if there was a mission to go with each one but let's be honest, bungie won't do that. And remember that time you reached level 20 and then you were like "wow this is so cool, I can use all this cool armour that boosts my level!" Light levels were a very unique feature in destiny and they are removing it. Destiny is going to mainstream and I doubt I'll be buying TTK for that amazingly high price..
Edit- most of you are idiots. Why would you want to grind a game by doing the same missions and crucible over and over. Just go play cod if you want a repetitive experience with literally 500-1000 levels of grinding, each one harder than the next!
Edit- If the game started like this it would of been dead by now, let's be honest because other games like this already exist.

Light levels weren't really unique. MMOs use the feature to lock you at a low level and force you to do endgame content to get gear that levels you higher. They're going to force you to do endgame content to level up. I'm guessing endgame gear will just be the best at it's level.
-
I like it because it was way to easy. All you had to do was put on a piece of armor. I hated that
-
Light levels were awkward and horrible. I never could figure out why they would reject 40 years of RPG convention to implement that system.
-
"I think it's a HUGE MISTAKE"! *Checks No button anyway" It'll be fine!
-
I think it is a huge mistake
-
Incredibly happy light levels are gone, especially for my friends that don't have the time to do raids

5 RespuestasHow will armor come into play now that light levels wont matter?

This actually encourages you to keep playing. When you're stuck at light level 34 for an eternity, what's your incentive to keep playing? This will also make the decision easier for those that want to switch classes, knowing they don't need a specific gear set to make max level. What's not to like here?
-
They're removing the light level "elitism" that have been there since the beginning. Unfortunately, they'll still be the gjallarhorn elites.
-
You sir are a moron. This is called proper level progression.. Being the people who are putting in time and effort will level up. . Not some random scrub like you who gets carried through a raid and gets a full set of gear... no... this will actually prove who plays the game. N I really hope they make the exp per lvl really high so that kids like you who want to put no time in to be max lvl will never get there. Again.. you sir are a moron.
-
It'll be interesting to see how players pair up for raids and what requirements they set since anyone can reach level cap by grinding.
-
3 RespuestasBecause grinding VoG waiting for that one God damn piece of armor keeping you from 30 to drop was sooooo much better. I loved being stuck at 29 because VoG wouldn't give me a God damn helmet or God damn boots.

Editado por CgroveHouse: 8/5/2015 5:56:10 PMOne of the worst things about Warcraft was when you got a new piece of gear, you had to make a zillion changes before you could wear it. It took out the coolness of getting new gear. Point being: Getting new gear and wearing it right away, or being able to swap freely based on situation is infinitely better. Edit: Also, making a poll and then calling the people that disagree with your one-sided opinion "idiots" is really immature, and frankly, idiotic.

1 Respuesta
Edit- most of you are idiots
If you don't agree with me you are a idiot^ on topic, it was a interesting concept, but doing it this way not a off the rocker. I do the same thing in WoW level to max then get my purples.

They are idiots, but they appear to be the majority, i have built five characters and the grind to 20 sucks, i hate it. I didn't even like destiny that much until i got to light levels. I didn't know it was coming, either, cause the game was new and nobody was leveled up yet. They are doing this to make all the players even, its to appease new players, but they will get sick of being fuked over too. Eventually. Im cool, though, just gonna play other games and i will not buy another bungie product as people like Luke Smith only laugh at how they take advantage of us.

4 RespuestasPeople are missing the real point. Without light levels, our progression is back to being XP based. Sounds good, right? WRONG! Destiny is now "pay to win" and here is why: 1) Leveling is now XP based. 2) CE edition purchasers, and us "lucky" year one players that pony up an additional $20 get the exotic class items. Those class items give a XP boost. Therefore, if you do not purchase the $20 "pay to win" package from Bungie your level progression will go slower. When the class items only affected the first 20 levels it was fine, NOW they affect our leveling all the way to 40.

Light levels out isn't bad Now taking all our progression and put it in the trash can... That's a different tread

It's probably in part the backlash they were receiving with how hard it was to be 30 then how fast it was to be 32 and then how ridiculously fast people were 34. So they're like screw it we can't figure it out so let's make it all Xp driven
-
What ever it is will be fine, chill

The thing with requiring "Light" to reach levels is that all our Guardians ended up being carbon copies of each other give or take whichever Exotic item you were using. Even now with the introduction of etheric light to alter items and create a sense of customization the majority of guardians still look the same. With them doing it based on experience we will be able to wear whatever armour you want and cherry pick perks. You can still be level 40 but you can wear that badass looking blue helmet. Granted it won't have the same perks or abilities but that will be your sacrifice.
-
Where's the maybe option? I've often felt that the light level decision was a bit floofy but like some others have said, it seems a little late to go back on it now. . .
-
You know you are calling people idiots that simply have a different preference than you? You're the idiot for insulting people's intellect because of a difference of opinion. Think before you speak.

12 RespuestasI'm excited about it. Light level just didn't make a lot of sense overall. What I'm curious about is, are all of our level 34s going to start back at level 20 when TTK comes it?
