I like them. You know why?
I've never studided a day in my life until high school and I've always scored in the top 1% of students nationally. I got recognized by duke as an advanced student. I'm gonna get my scholarship at some top school. And apparently people care about those tests. So, for now, I'm putting up with them, and I'll take my scholarship.

You're the 1% here bud. I'm in the same boat as you but you hafts admit the process is unnecessary. Just because you or I didn't study doesn't mean others didn't. The richer kids get more tutoring and studying and get higher scores and better schools and better jobs and their kids get tutored and you can see how the system is flawed.

Congrats. Let's say from grade 2 you spend 3 weeks of class on the test. By your senior year in high school you would have wasted 33 weeks of school time. More than half a year gone to standardized testing.
-
Who the hell has 3 weeks of standardized testing? We have a week max
-
Editado por Face Mcshooty: 7/29/2015 7:11:48 PMWe have about 2 weeks per testing stage (which is twice a year) but not all of that is us testing so I put it about 3 accounting for all the class time teachers waste to give you test prep. I'm in the U.S. so your stuff may be different.
-
I'm in the US as well. Uhhhh with prep, it's about 2 weeks. So yeah, I hate them too, probably more than anyone else because it's shit I learned 4 years ago. But I'm gonna put up with them for now.
-
That's fine but think of it this way. Every kid like you and I who get into the top 1-5% (my state only says top 5% so I don't know where I am in that sense) there is a lot more that get in the lower 50%. My friend actually inspired me to make this post because he got really great grades in most courses but he had a big fight with his parents the week of standardized test which dropped him into the top 60% when he used to be top 5% with me.

Op thinks he's smart
he had to study in highschool
I have a pretty good memory but I really have to for AP classes
-
You should work on your social skills
-
I'm pretty social, school has never been hard so I always had time for friends.
-
Yeah, I have a friend just like you, but people don't like it when you throw stuff in their face, like intelligence, because it's hard for other people to do well in school. To be honest the first post is more about my friend who's a very arrogant, and talks done to people.
-
I've met people like me but who are more of an asshole to the less intelligent. It's not really my business who well someone does in school, so I'm not gonna call them stupid or look down on them. My best friend from preschool, he isn't very smart, he had to transfer to a private school because the public system was screwing him over. We're still good friends even though he's 1000 miles away from me. And we still hang out when I'm back in town.
-
Yeah, the problem with my friend is he's in the top 1% of people, like you, so basically he looks down on everyone. Even if there in the 2% of people, like myself
-
Yep, I'm not that kinda person. You could be in the top 90%, I wouldn't care.
