Can anyone give me sniper tips? Anything. What sensitivity? What perks? Alot of people use LDR or Efrideets. I have those but the rolls aren't that good. Been trying a benevolence with hidden hand and unflinching. Trying to get better at pvp in general and I'm ok with shotgun but to be good in trials I think I need to improve all around but especially sniper. Thoughts?
Thanks for all the responses. Some great advice! Seems that the sensitivity is just a preference I have to figure out for myself. And some say to use aim assist some say don't because it will not make me better. Well not sure about that either.
So I got to practice last night and was much better in control. In one on one battles I probably got the kill half the time. Which is much better for me. The only thing is I still panic and make poor decisions when there are multiple enemies. Working on it though. I think I have to learn how to move better, know where my best spot to not get killed is. Anyway just wanted to thank you all again for your advice. Oh. And also my K/D was much better with a sniper that a shotgun by far. Couldn't believe a few games I was over 2. Nice surprise. Didn't even feel like it!

If the enemy sniper in Trials knows where you are, do not turn the corner and challenge, as a good sniper will dome you before you get a chance to shoot. If you kill a few people from a certain spot, change your position because they will know exactly where you are and likely find a way to rush/flank you. There are obvious snipe lanes in every map, but if you get creative with your positioning, enemies will not be expecting you. Think outside of the box. -The best advice I can give is learn exactly where the head height is for a guardian. If you know that someone is about to turn the corner, you can hard scope and place your reticule at exactly where their head will be. Most guardians just run around the corner as opposed to jumping around corners since weapons lose accuracy while jumping. Anytime I am scoped-in, my reticule is ALWAYS located at the head height. -In reference to the point above about head height, you want to always try to keep your scope moving horizontally. If you already lineup to the head height, you only need to strafe to the right and left in a gun battle which is significantly easier than adding the element of verticality. Try to keep your left thumbstick as the only thing you need to lineup a shot. To assist with this, I highly recommend the perk Unflinching. While your goal as a sniper is to not be getting shot, in Trials against good competition you will need to be able to pull off snipes while being under fire. -I recommend using a mid-high impact sniper (LDR/Benevolence/Shadow of Veils) and just play Skirmish to practice for Trials to learn how to snipe off of a revive. This is absolutely crucial in Trials. There are so many rounds where I will win the initial snipe battle, and then I can revive-lock that person for the duration of the match ensuring that the round remains 3v2. -I noticed a lot of people saying to just practice, but the absolute best way to become better is to jump straight into Trials and start sniping. It will be extremely frustrating, but if you practice sniping against the best competition, you can stroll into Control/Clash/Skirmish next week and it will seem like a breeze. The better competition you play, the better you become. My buddy, who has not sniped once in this game, switched to a snipe two weekends ago and he had it rough at first, but has improved vastly since then because good competition will punish you for making certain mistakes, so you learn to not make said mistakes. -Another way to get better is to use a sniper that has low aim assist (Praedyth's, Spear, Amplified Geo, Violator) and then switch to your mid-high impact sniper during the Trials weekend and it will seem like headshots are the easiest thing in the world. Edit: I also forgot one of the most important things for a sniper, or when you are using any gun for that matter: NEVER STOP MOVING. Always be strafing while you are aiming, always strafe while you are reviving a teammate, always strafe for everything.

4 RespuestasFirst off don't be one the snipers that thinks they are good by standing in one spot head glitching and hardscoping. It doesn't look good, you just need to always snipe I have been running NLB and my LDR for double sniping. And a lower sensitivity is always best for sniping. I am running a 3 sensitivity atm make sure to be aware of your surroundings zoom in zoom out watch that radar. But like I said always do it never switch to a shotgun just keep sniping.

2 RespuestasI use The Chosen with Ambush, Clown Cartridge, Armor Piercing Rounds, and Performance Bonus Your sensitivity doesn't matter, most maps are so small...you know what just watch this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGXDyI3JUuM

1 RespuestaI actually thought you were telling us about a Witch sniper. Then I realised they're Wizards. Then I realised you were asking. Is it home time yet???
-
Something with high aim assist and good impact is ideal. Shadow of Veils is a great choise. But there is not a sniper that will make you food, you have to practice. Watch Yt videos for tips.

Shadow of veils is so easy to snipe with

1 Respuestawatch pvp players on twitch....you can learn a lot....My go to is tripleWRECK
-
1 RespuestaPraedyth's Revenge. Base stats crush every other sniper.
-
1 Respuestayour LDR on your titan is very nice. use either snapshot or perfect balance. I prefer snapshot. her benevolence is also good but idk i think the LDR has a nicer feel to it
-
Low grade humility or her benevolence. Get hidden hand, whatever scope and mid perks you like, and unflinching on it. I snipe on 4 sensitivity, but some people take it even lower using 2 or 3.

Preydeths revenge is what ive been using. Dont have much experience in crucible quite yet but i like how it feels

I highly recommend Icebreaker (My personal favorite) and Praedyth's revenge. Also this video could help you quite a bit with sniping!!!!!

1 RespuestaLooking at weapons now available with HoW I'd recommend Her Benevolence. It sits in the same rate of fire and impact category as the LDR. I rolled mine for Ambush scope, Clown Cartridge, and Performance Bonus. Extra ammo is the name of the game in PvP. I don't recommend Unflinching like a lot of other players as the perk seems (from my experience) completely worthless. Same for Hidden Hand.

I use sensitivity of 4 to snipe. It helps with adjusting. Your benevolence sounds great and I'm trying to get one. Definitely practice. If you can record a few games sniping. Then review them as to why you died and what you should have done. You need to review to learn to not make your mistakes and you will find yourself improving in pvp overall :)

8 RespuestasI have a 71% headshot percentage with snipers and more kills than any other weapon type. I play on 4 sensitivity, trust me Benevolence with Shortgaze and hidden hand is the way to go
-
2 RespuestasI started with praedyths revenge, good rate of fire so you can quickly clean up kills if you miss the headshot. I use her benevolence now with shortgaze scope, hidden hand, snapshot and unflinching. Snapshot can allow you to quickly pull off some nice drag scope shots. As for sensitivity I use 4 and wouldn't recommend going over 5 but of course use what's most comfortable for you. Have fun out there keep practicing

10 RespuestasEditado por HackSource17: 7/23/2015 3:35:00 PMIm just going to say I agree with every thing Creepeth said and for sensitivity go with what feels right. Some people play on ten for fast shots and some on 2 for easy corrections. But to be honest most snipers play on about 4-6. Finally you have 3 different kinds of snipers. High impact low rate of fire Medium impact medium rate of fire And finally low impact high rate of fire. So if your going to practice sniping I would start with high rate of fire with low impact until your competent with headshots as those snipers are most forgiving. Once your good with head shot you should move to a medium impact and medium rate of fire. This will be less forgiving but can take Down shielded enemies and still allows for follow ups if you miss. NOTE that high impact low rate of fire snipers are useless as the 2nd option I listed does the same thing but is more forgiving
Final round snipers are also a no no while learning as they promote only going for body shots
Example of snipers below High rate of fire low impact Violator 12 (new monarchy) Medium ROF medium impact Longbow synthesis Her benevolence High impact, low ROF Efrideets LDR Last but not least don't expect these tips people give you to work overnight. It takes plenty of Practice,Raging, and Frustation Good luck guardian

1 RespuestaIf you have shadow of veils use that to get used to sniping. One of the highest aim assist snipers. Then slowly work your way down. Efrideets and ldr have a much lower AA
-
3 RespuestasShadow of Veils has the highest aim assist of any sniper currently in the game. If you have one I would recommend trying it.
-
Keep rolling your spear. If it's an old one its perks are leaps and bounds better than anything you can get now
-
I like benevolence, seems to have good target aquisition. I find knowing the sniper lines and getting there first is the best advice.
