Who gives a -blam!- about her husband or his day? Who the -blam!- cares about a virtual gift? If this story WAS legit they'd be worried about the matter at hand.

Who says they aren't? I just went through some very tough times of my own and despite the enormity of it all I still thought that little things mattered. There weren't most important things anymore, not by a long shot, but to deny those small joys in life would be to deny the very existence of my life. As a [i]long-time [/i]community veteran I've seen the cons, I've seen the cheating. But all that is so very moot against the very real ups and downs people experience every day. Even if we on the forums can't fix everything, we might still help some things along. Now just as I say to you "you are probably being a wild asshole" there's the chance (however unlikely IMO) that this is just another "I can has Recon?" But if the price of saying no to that is saying no to someone's earnest request for a little joy somewhere else down the line then I'll gladly reward them all because doing otherwise would be a very, very strong violation of what makes this world work. The internet is full of trouble. However that shouldn't stop you from caring.

I'd also like to apologize if I've made this thread more confrontational than it (ideally) needed to be. But regardless of what is said here you know what matters in life. Some people don't and they have trouble coming to terms with a situation that challenges that. Thus they reject out of hand because its easier for them to live in that world than the one presented by the full depth of genuine human emotion. However you shouldn't let that reflect on you and what you're going through. Its a defensive reaction on their part, and eventually they'll have to deal with it. Again here's hoping Bungie makes your whole family's day. You deserve it, and I'll go on believing you deserve it because that what helps me see the spark in life. What matters isn't armor or weapons (those are just symbols for something else), its how we treat each other. :)

Thank you. I had to delete this story. I am getting harassed by people now. I will forward the story directly to the folks at bungie. This, obviously, wasn't the place for it. A few people had a hard time believing our story, which is fine, its the internet. But some have gone the mile to say too many hurtful things and make sure I feel unsafe.

Remember, there is a report feature. Make use of it if they're really crossing the line. :)
