I always believed that the cabal and fallen were not really dark creatures that obeyed and served the fallen. I have a full theory supporting this belief but this new information reveals more to support my theory. We now know what the cabal are running from. We knew at the beginning that they were running from something but we did not know what it was. Now we know that it is indeed the Taken King himself, Oryx. Now if the Cabal were servants of the darkness why would they be running from the Hive? The Hive aren't the Vex where they kill other creatures, even dark creatures like themselves, for no reason. The sole intent of the Hive is to destroy the light, not matter what. So why are they going after the Cabal? Obviously the Cabal are not light but they don't show any signs of being dark and corrupted creature either, so why are the Hive harassing them? My guess is that we know that Oryx is on some kind of ship in the rings of Saturn and it could be a Cabal ship. This is probably the "corrupted army" that Oryx is building. He is corrupting Cabal to be his servants by using his dark creatures. Oryx already has millions of Hive at his command so why would he need to build an army of Hive when he already has one (pretty much all the Hive)? If the Cabal were dark, then why would Oryx even need to use his powers on them? The Cabal would probably make a truce or something but they would not go and flee from the Hive. This shows that the Cabal are running away from the Darkness. They hate and are afraid of the Darkness. They don't embrace it like the Hive and Vex do. They run away from it. Which leads me to my conclusion. My theory is that the Cabal are not dark creatures and don't serve the Darkness and what I have stated above is possible evidence of this theory. But for now it is still unknown of what truly will happen in Taken King so whatever I said above might have the chance of being wrong but a bigger chance of being right from what I have gathered from other forums and the E3 trailer of the Taken King.
