Tried the patched version for an hour. Gave up.
The adds may be predictable but they just teleport in. We had captains and vandals just appear next to us and one shot us with Lightswitch.
Skolas rewards were terrible before but now it's just not worth doing.
I've got 6 etheric light sat in my vault
Got 4 ships
Poe armour is bad
Got 2 new exotics and they drop on 34 anyway
Got 2 elemental primaries and they're not great either
Not sure this encounter is worth the hassle anymore. Id rather concentration Pvp where the real rewards are.
Edit - Im not saying its impossible or that I cant do it. we didn't do it last night in an hour and a guy had to leave so we called it a day. to me it just seems more hassle than its worth now. Ill do it once so I know I can and then wont bother again
key factors are
whole thing takes too long
fight is just DPS him while running in a circle. 1 person dies and the team can wipe due to poison
rewards are poor and I have all the ones worth getting
no checkpoints
Rather focus on Pvp now
Edit 2 - just done skolas first time none of us got a cypher none got a primary. Skolas = pointless.

3 RespuestasJust admit that your bad at poe. Exotic bounty drops pretty much every time you do skolas on a character that week. The rewards are technically the best in the game your first time doing it. And you obviously have no clue what your talking about. I do skolas a lot btw.

1 RespuestaIt's a very tedious fight now. There is literally no incentive to finish him if you have the elder cipher weapons you want. The best primaries are in ToO and given the very limited vault space. It's 100% pointless getting the PoE weapons if you can get the ToO ones. Having to do the fight legitimately has simply revealed how badly thought out PoE Skolas was to begin with. Here are the issues as I see them. 1. No guaranteed PoE elemental primary/secondary/heavy at the end of the battle. Why? 2. No exclusive armour such as the exile set found in ToO. Why? 3. No special ending just the same old treasure room and even that is broken given that it does not hand out the rewards it's supposed to. Why? The only thing I've seen done right with the Skolas rewards has been to give the player the elder cipher upon completion but, again a simple why? In this case why does the cipher not allow for the selection of an armour set as well as the weapons. Why is it not set up to have the following mechanic. Trade the ciper directly for one of the legendary elemental PoE weapons of your choice or do the exotic quest. Surely that would solve the issues if you were always guaranteed a cipher and allowed to select what you got for it. My trademark quote "It's not frikkin' rocket science!"

I beat him once and don't plan on it again.
-
I killed him at least 12 times still no elements I gave up after the no burn patch
-
3 RespuestasSpent 2hours doings skolos from the beginning then my friend djlouismcc123 KICKS me from the game and doesn't let me join back! REPORT HIM SND SPREAD THE MESSAGE!!! Xbox360

i have all 3 exotics and etheric light is something i get so often from doing trials so i just do skolas for fun or to help my clan members out . since they did the update on skolas and removed the elemental burns its a much more balanced encounter and a challenge . but once you get everything you need from POE honestly it isn't worth it . does POE have reply value yes but the rewards are lackluster
-
ok im back, and now i understand. skolas is pointless. i stopped playing skolas first weeks ago once i realized that the prizes are not even close to worth the time. i stopped playing POE altogether since i have all 3 exotics and etheric light is no longer something i will ever need
-
It's not bad man. Damage him with snipes like before, he gets close then pop some rockets and leave yo other side. Take out adds. Damage skolas. Take out adds. Damage skolas. When he gets low enough for mines go as a team; allows for quicker take down and distraction of adds because they shoot at different people. Eventually you'll beat him. The bug key is to communicate well with the essence.

Did Skolas first time today. The servitory, poison, and trip mine components while fighting Skolas and dealing with Ads... I have to say was pretty fun and challenging. While Skolas is a bullet sponge the level really is a test of multitasking. We found ourselves killing the servitors too early and not having sights on Skolas, losing time. And with the poison, not doing enough damage; too worried about the timer and staying alive. You really can't go into Skolas without a fully upgraded primary and all you really need besides it is a fully upgraded black hammer. For my heavy I used truth. In the end, while I didn't receive any exotic, it was enjoyable. But you are right I can find it easily repetitive.

2 RespuestasSo, because you can't cheese him in 29 seconds anymore, he's not worth doing? This is all I got out of this post.
-
i dont even touch that shit anymore, the game is kind of boring for me atm anyway... nothing left to do but pvp
-
I don't really need to do skolas either. Lol I have 20 etheric light. And I have Lord Of Wolves, and Queenbreakers Bow. And I'm waiting for variks to summon me for Dregs Promise
-
1 RespuestaDid it earlier with 2 ransoms in about 10 mins is easy enough as long as you have the ability to stay alive rather than firing 14 rockets as quick as possible
-
I did the same thing last night they should remove poison while mines are active that would at least make that sequence managable
-
Skolas is easy as now mate. Dont know why everyone complains. Done it twice after the parch. First attempt on my hunter and second attempt on my titan due to my team failing to burn him the first try and not continuing the attempt. Explained you need to kill multiple servitors and damage him in bursts and they caught on. With a solid straitigy it takes 10-15 minutes for the fight.
-
2 RespuestasSo... You suck
-
Just beat him on my third try. First go at him had him down to 20%. It's really not that hard. Just takes more than 40 seconds. That's the way it should be.
-
9 RespuestasWait wait wait. Can somebody clear something up for me? What exactly are the modifiers for skolas post patch. I keep hearing it brawler and something else. Then somebody says it's lightswitch and small arms. Are they like two sets of modifiers that happen at random?
-
Tbh it was kinda fun
-
It wasn't that bad. Better than beating him in 60 seconds.
-
I don't even have an elemental primary:.(
-
right there with you bro. same things I said. ran it 3 times a week since launch and i'm done
-
Are you fricking kidding me?! It's so much more enjoyable and its a lot easier.
-
Editado por aisha99: 6/17/2015 3:34:51 AMI went in with a defeatist attitude. Really didn't want to do it but didn't want to bail on my team. So I stayed. So I participated. First time we wiped three or so times. Second and third times we beat it on the first try. It's less stressful than snipers or ghorn because you can make mistakes. It's easier than original quodron. Communication is paramount.
-
2 RespuestasThe change to ads being Skolas health percent spawned versus on a timer, endlessly flooding in is what really makes this fight more manageable post patch. Lightswitch is always a pain, but working from the far right platform where enemies usually just hop up and immediately hop back down again is the safest way to go about it with that mod. Clear the ads. Shoot the sponge. Rinse and repeat.
-
As someone who has beaten him with burn and without it, I kinda agree. Once you get all 3 exotics and shader/ships, all there is to go for from Skolas is elemental primaries. And be honest, none of them come anywhere close to Etheric Light-ed VoG or Crota prinaries.
