Some edits added at the bottom to better explain my post - please read :)
The repetitiveness of the Daily Bounties and their pitiful rewards is beginning to get to me.
The one thing actually worth doing is the Daily or Weekly Heroic stories with their Ascendant material rewards, however, it's quite often blocked due to me not having the DLC.
I'm not paying £19.99 GBP ($30+ US) for the Dark Below (or the other one) as I don't think they offer value for money.
So, why not offer daily/weekly heroic missions that were in the original game to the non-DLC holders? The people who own the DLC can continue to receive missions from the larger pool of what's available to them.
That way you're not denying non-DLC holders access to the rewards and turning them away from the game ( or are you hoping we'll cave and shell out for the DLC just to have more things to do?)
It's not that I can't afford it, (I easily can), I just like to feel that I'm getting value for money when I purchase DLC.
EDIT: I feel the need to add an edit here as some of you are not comprehending my suggestion. I'm not asking to play the DLC content. I haven't paid for it so don't expect to.
I'm asking for a suitable variety of in-game tasks/missions to do each day/week with my standalone copy of the game i.e. I'm asking for Daily/Weekly missions from the original game to be available to the non-DLC holders so that we don't have to wait a whole week before we can do another Nightfall etc.
2nd EDIT: I only bought this game about a month ago as I finally got an Xbox One. It cost me £54.99 GBP ($85 US) so was expecting a decent amount of things to do. People seem to be telling me I've come to this game too late and I need to now shell out for the DLC already in order to keep it interesting!!!

Should of read reviews before you bought it lol.
-
You can get both for 35$ the season pass and save ten bucks
-
All these flavours and you choose to be salty
-
Buy the dlc or shut it.
-
1 RespuestaWhy are you still playing this game if you don't have the DLC at this point it's pretty much pointless
-
That's a stupid marketing strategy. The reason they do this is to make you buy the DLC, which is perfectly fine. They would be losing so much money if they just gave the missions and strikes for free, because that's 2/3's of each DLC.

Editado por Spartan 872: 6/14/2015 7:05:25 PMThe HoW dailies don't even offer ascendents if I recall correctly. Only motes of light. It sucks but your not missing much. Also Ascendants are on their way to being phased out completely. So you really only need them for VoG gear. Which you can only get from VoG witch gives you shards anyway. Really you are only missing the weekly 9 strange coins or the occasional Nightfall. (Only ever one, never both in the same week)
-
Stop now. If you arent willing to buy the DLCs, find another game while you can.
-
You decide to not keep up with where the game is going and we all should suffer playing the original content forever? Sounds like a legit argument...lol
-
No. Both DLCs brought lots of free content to the game. You literally got something for nothing. Now you want to whine and say you deserve more for your nothing? Grow up. You own the base game. You get base game content. It is absolutely absurd that you would demand an entire separate daily, weekly, nightfall to accommodate your refusal to buy DLC. Look, if you want to keep the money you claim to have pleanty of, fine. But you don't then get to demand that Bungie create and curate additional content just so you can not support the game. You want all the strikes? Buy the DLC. You want to keep your cash? Then don't whine about the content you refuse to pay for.
-
That's how bungie operates
-
Buy the dlc problem solved stop expecting everything for free
-
Someone's always wanting something for nothing.... Sad!!!
-
They are offering DLC owners to enjoy the weekly/daily/nightfall with new strikes and story missions since they paid for it. They change weekly/daily anyway its not a big deal.
-
3 RespuestasNo offense but they'll never do that. It serves no benefit to them.
-
1 RespuestaOne reason I can think of is that they want the people who bought the dlc to actually play the new story and strike missions more than once. Thus they implemented them into the heroic daily and weekly. Just a thought.
-
If you don't have the dlc, how do you know if it has value or not? I would think NOT having the dlc would decrease the value of what you bought already (standalone w/o dlc) since there are things you don't have access too. If you buy the season pass it makes it somewhat cheaper, AND you get a cess to everything in the game...thus increasing the value of the entire package you now own... Just my thought, not trying to be a douche.

5 RespuestasAt first I was surprised to learn Destiny had no subscription fee, since I was used to WoW which is $15 a month. But then I realized that their model is just to have DLC instead (TDB + HoW + TTK = $80 in the first year, so basically around $7 a month to play beyond the initial price). MMO's need either a subscription, in-game purchases, or frequent paid DLC to continue providing new content. Now, that said, I think it IS unfair that the release of new DLC actually reduces the options for players who don't purchase it. "Sorry, you can't do the weekly nightfall strike anymore. New DLC for everyone else means lack of basic gameplay functions for you now. Pay up, b!tch." TL;DR: Don't expect to get the full MMO experience without paying BUT New DLC shouldn't mean LOSS of basic gameplay functions for nonDLC players. Shame on you, Bungie.

8 RespuestasI didn't read "Moby Dick" because I think it's a terrible book. Your argument doesn't make sense in that context, does it?
-
Are you just like a Vault of Glass expert then? What else is there for you to do? 40$ is like a really cheap date but you will actually enjoy it. Every Tuesday you'll realize you have too much shit to do to go on cheap dates anyways.
-
Dude no, what you're saying isn't fair. Others payed good money to play that. There is in no reality a fair way for you to access it for free. They paid rent, that does not qualify you to sleep under the same roof. You are not entitled to anything. You pay or you stop complaining. If it means that much to you, pay the money. If you don't have the money, I understand. Hell, I just lost my job. But you aren't entitled to anything because someone else worked hard and spent their money on an expansion. If you honest to goodness don't have the money, okay. I'm sorry. I wish I could help and I honestly want to! More people to help with POE! If I have some spare money after finances I'll come back and I'll buy the darn DLC for you! But please, stop trying to explain your sense of entitlement in a way that makes it sound like you've been wronged. You haven't. You are IN the wrong.
-
Stop being poor.
-
1 RespuestaWhy should that support you if if you don't support them?
-
In the end, they "bungie" can do whatever the -blam!- they want. You, I and whoever play their game; Not ours. Want to argue this? Good luck as they are capable of shutting down the servers on a whim.

1 RespuestaEditado por EpicSalsa01: 6/14/2015 4:47:34 PMHouse of Wolves is very good, I recommend it. But you are 100% right on the dark below, they scammed me on that one. Comes with: the worst strike in the game, a cheesable raid, 1 hour of story, some guns and armor, and a boring/annoying new vendor/questgiver. HoW comes with a new social area with new vendors, a new cryptarch, PETRA. Also includes the best/most enjoyable strike in the game, hella new guns/armor, Prison of Elders (firefight with very good rewards), Trials of Osiris, Wolf Bounties, VARIKS THE LOYAL, and some stuff that I probably forgot Buy HoW, don't buy TDB Variks <3 Petra <3

If you really enjoy the game, then by all means purchase TDB and HoW. Despite all that was lackluster in TDB, there are serious benefits to running Crota's End to help you with future content. As glitchy and short as it can feel, every week you run CE gives you high % opportunities at exotics AND great end game weapons that can now be ascended into continued relevance. (i.e. Black Hammer, Fang, Hunger) That being said, you're foolish not to purchase HOW if you truly love the game. Despite what the vocal minority says, they truly delivered with the latest dlc. If it isn't a matter of money for you, there's no reason to deny yourself content on principle and then gripe over it.
