Welp, shits hit the fan. Kotaku write up on Thorn. This is not a debate, it touches on a much bigger problem.

Really? I mean really? Please read below, this is by far not me starting another Thorn debate. It's a much bigger problem than that. Gaming veterans will appriciate.
I guess my big thing about it is, whatever happened to overcoming? It's like people have just lost true competitive spirit. For example back in counter strike days (which still live on) real strategy was the big talk, not a bunch of pansies whining about guns. Halo 2, if you ever met anyone legit higher than 40, you respected that cause they would feed you your own shit if you slipped against them. And you better believe you would be killed by alot more than a BR. I understand times have changed for fps' as they are much more complex and in depth now but along with that comes an almost must to spend time experimenting and testing things out and adapting to new playstyles. People just give up too easy anymore and look for an obvious scapegoat for their own shortcomings.
I still think some are unclear of what I'm saying. Some are finally challenging my viewpoint which is good. Let me be clear. My issue with the write up is how many people are going to see it along with the toxic behavior that is going to be further spread because of it. Hate it now or whatever, but kotaku still reaches to alot of players. Whether it's quality writing anymore isn't the point. On that note, to those that feel this mindset isn't as much the problem. Think about Thorn and it's history for a second. That weapon has always been devastating in pvp. Always. Before and after any adjustments to hand cannons. As its been stated before, too many other people were busy using other weapons, that at the time, felt better to use. But Thorn was always there and a standout. But now! Now, ToO has came. Now that there is something that draws out the crowd of highly skilled and highly competitive players, for the right reasons as the rewards are much greater. All of a sudden, Thorn draws much more attention because, supposedly, that one weapon alone, all by itself has changed everything in Pvp? I don't buy into that, and again I'm not defending the weapon and it's usefulness. It's just funny to me that Thorn has never, neverrrrrr, caused this much of a show before ToO. Just think about that. Take your time. I'm still here. So. Why is this? Like I've been preaching throughout this entire thread, people's mentalities and resolve to this have digusted me. It's a terrible mindset that I'm seeing and have noticed in gaming for a long time ago. Fps just seems to really "bring out the best" in people more so than other genres. I promise that gun alone is not what is keeping people from being competitive and successful in ToO. Just a quick thanks to everyone that's actually read everything I've been saying, and to those that understand the issue I'm trying to bring to light, though I'm sure many have seen this for awhile now.
