OK, so I have recently started using thorn, yes, because it is overpowered. The reason why I chose to do this was to over come the terrible servers and lag I have been experiencing lately. I am a big fan of auto rifles and as we all know that doesn't go to well anymore, so I moved to red death after the big patch that made pulse rifles king. I really enjoyed it and am working on getting a bad juju to test it out. As of now I would rather use red death, a shot gun or sniper (depending on map circumstances) and a LMG. Due to the latency issues I experience in crucible (I know I'm not alone) I have had to change to thorn and rockets (still use the shotty / sniper swap). I'm just curios mostly to why others use these weapons? Is the mass flood of Thorns, last words, shot gun and rockets due to latency or a broken unbalance in the game? Leave a comment. I'm curious and hope that bungie reads this and understands that I can no longer play the way I want, I have been forced into playing their way in order to be competitive.

Because winning is fun? Yea im pretty sure it is. Plus losing doesn't gain as much rep and i dont want my time in game to be wasteful

1 RespuestaI wouldn't call any of the weapons I use OP.
-
Why do I use the OP weapons? I like to set the world on fire. :)
-
Why not
-
Self defense
-
Yeah I can't stand these OP weapon users. They won't even like the gun but just use it since it has the highest TTK. No one likes a good challenge anymore it takes the fun right out of the game. Plus getting used to the sights on No Land Beyond is near impossible, but it's an OP one shot primary...
-
Because winning is the goal, I do whatever it takes. If the crucible is a place to test yourself and your fellow guardians, why take it easy on them? Do you think the darkness will hold back, let me answer, no. Its going to come at us with everything its got and we need to be ready guardians.

2 RespuestasWas using thorn and hawkmoon but hate the last word because I felt I needed the help. Since moving to scout rifle enjoying IB and PVE much more.
-
I use OP weapons because that is how you win the trials of thorn.
-
8 RespuestasPeople that rely on them are just bad in general and get rekt using anything else? Lets see those 70-0 videos using anything else. Specifically autos and fusions videos. Oh wait...

1 RespuestaBecause they're op, that's a stupid question, no i use them because they look cool.
*sarcasm*
1 RespuestaEditado por Silly Sod: 6/6/2015 8:20:15 AMI don't use op weapons I use Silimars wrath, khvostov and any other crappy weapons I can find more fun that way But not dead orbits old auto rifle - that was terrible and the queens auto is poor (but determined to use it again - it really needs a buff) Using red death was seriously dull

3 RespuestasWhy would I not choose the best weapons in the game? I want to win right? Anyway, I have an exotic primary available since my choice for special and heavy is always non-exotic. I love handcannon's. So I play a lot with exotic handcannon's. It's perfectly normal... Once I get the Queen's Bow as an exotic special, I will use other primary's. Simple as that.

7 RespuestasI never liked using the thorn much, I don't like how it handles. I beat out thorns with my last word quite often. I've always liked TLW.
-
1 RespuestaI've always liked Thorn, since its earliest concept art, mentionings, and appearance in trailers. I like the look, the sound, the idea of Thorn. Not about to stop using it on account of some dumb personal video-game pride.

3 RespuestasEditado por CamelFlaugePanda: 6/6/2015 7:41:21 AMI never upgraded my thorn but after playing ToO I basically have to get it upgraded in order to keep up (Im not the best pvp player so I need every advantage I can) I've been using the vex and that's worked out ok too but at a distance I lose firefights and thorns seem to snipe me from pretty far away I'll be jumping on that train until it is inevitably nerfed
-
1 RespuestaThey're easy to use. Why would I want to struggle in a game?

1 RespuestaEditado por TIMMAAYY: 6/6/2015 7:28:48 AMThe easiest way to beat cancer is with more cancer Edit: for the record I never use thorn or tlw, they just feel to dirty

3 RespuestasIs bad juju op ?
-
7 RespuestasEditado por Beeburrito: 6/6/2015 7:27:33 AMI use Bad Juju the most cause it's not Thorn, and Thorn is for scrubs. I love the way it plays, it melts in the right circumstances, I feel like I can still teabag while using it, and SUPERS!!!! Though just today I got Ghelions Demise, and it kicks some serious butt. It has the damage and impact of Handcannons with a good rate of fire, full auto, and more impact than MIDA. It is a BEAST.

4 RespuestasWell I don't want to be another *****bag so I don't use Thorn. Now I feel 3lite with my Khvostov in the IB. Im going to try out TLW later. But no on being another filthy thorn bastard in PVP. It stays in the vault

3 RespuestasAs those below me have said, and likely a lot more when they respond to this thread...it's the metagame. If you're not using them, sadly...you're getting used by people who are. After a while, you get sick of being on the losing end against Thorn specifically. (I don't count Red Death and the Mytho as IMO, they're not OP, and TLW is OP, it's bugged. There's a difference.) Thankfully...all of the people who do are only adding fuel to the fire that will essentially lead to Thorn's inevitable downfall. Bungie sees the numbers...same as they did with the once mighty Suros Regime. It's not a matter of if Thorn gets nerfed, but when and how hard. The Thorn bandwagon had best enjoy it while it lasts, and ready themselves same way us dedicated AR users did when our tool of choice was reduced to a watergun. On that note for me personally, I break my Thorn out for IB only. I don't bother with ToO, as most of my friends aren't PvP players and I've heard enough LFG horror stories regarding the trials to not want to be bothered with it. IB is my PvP end game, and when need be, I use Thorn. But not hardly enough to be on the bandwagon. (Take a look at my weapon stats...AR kills count for over 80% of my kills...and that's before AND after the nerfs.) I'm an AR guy...always have been, always will me. I've been blessed with some pre HoW ARs with talents that reduce the ineffectiveness the nerfs hit the class with, such as my weapon of choice, my Up For Anything with Reactive Reload, Field Scout and Crowd Control (aka Damage for days). It's gratifying chewing guys using exotic primaries alive with it, as with 56 rounds in a clip, and stability just a shade under the Regime and Hard Light, I can sustain fire on a target longer then they can on me, ESPECIALLY the HCs. So I'll go toe to toe with a Thorn or TLW user confident that if their aim isn't good, I'll win the fight or trade kills with them. But getting back on the topic, people will always use OP weapons while they can. And when said weapon is nerfed, they'll move on to the next. Funny thing is, it's the HC users who flooded these forums back in October and November complaining about how ARs were OP across the board...coupled with Bungie's own f*ck up with the IB bounties that attributed mainly to the AR nerf in the 1st place.

3 RespuestasWhen I played earlier, I swapped between- *Thorn (smaller maps/the cruicible bounty) *mythoclast (tight maps/ for the bounty) *bad juju (mid to long range maps) *suros regime (for fun and actually enjoyed it)
