I've seen Roots and and 12 years a slave. I feel so bad watching them get crammed into the ships, and all of the different punishments they get. Makes you remember that humans can be monsters.

It kind of reminds me, if you ever read a novel about a dystopian society, you always have to wonder what's happening in the rest of the world, and what they're doing. Well, we have a real life example here, and the answer is, not much.
