What have I turned into
After failing to reach flawless in trials two weeks in a row, I took a look in the mirror and said what's wrong with me, why can't I do this?
It was then that I realized I was no match for these people if I used different guns. That thorn bounty I've had sitting in my bounty slot for a month(don't like handcannons so no rush) I decided to start it, my shotgun situation needed an upgrade in that department, sniper? Yeah needed a better one of that too.
Now here I am, thorn almost maxed out, a brand new matador 64 rerolled with shot package and rifled barrel, and a praedeyths revenge maxed out now. Now here I am ready for trials, ready to go flawless as a changed person. Should I be disgusted at myself for changing or should I embrace it and be okay with using a cheap weapon like thorn and a matador sniper?

1 RespuestaDude unfortunately you won't have success without a Thorn or Last Word and without a Matador/Party Crasher or a high impact sniper like a LDR or Her Benevolence. Just have to find a good team with good chemistry. First week me and my team had 1 flawless this week we did it on all 3 characters and then some. I was honestly 34-0 this weekend in trials.

Best games doubled had a few 4.0 + games. I'm not great at all but simply shooting thorns bumped my kills very very noticeably... Even have had tried tlw red death (prior fav) hawk moon and even vex. Needless to say I like my new toy.

Neither. Just accept even top cap stats (per item), learned and transferable perks, and the resulting only difference being skin package hasn't become part of the game (yet?), and is just part of the learning curve(and thus development). Note: The driving force of development in games is better game-play for all.

1 RespuestaI hate ToO, so i'm never doing that again, but I'm doing quite great in IB, could have been Rank 4, but got distracted with PoE yesterday so I couldn't finish the bounties (btw where are those 10 bounties you said we could have Bungie?). Anyway I'm usingPest Control Matrix sold by Vanguard, with native perks, no way I'm spending anything rerolling an AR, Felwinter's (1.0 with Hammerforged), and the BTRD-345, honestly both have surprised me quite a but, I might ascend the BTRD to face Scolas later this week.

Just out of curiosity, did you notice any hair growing on your neck when you looked in the mirror? If so, then I think you've found the answer to your question in the title of this thread. [spoiler]I only ask because I looked in the mirror recently and noticed the dark below my chin was getting thicker. And it scared the hell out of me :p[/spoiler]

2 RespuestasAll this talk of Thorn being OP may be true, but why the hate? You wouldn't take to the race track in a Toyota Prius if you had a Ferrari in your garage... You use thorn if you want to, no shame just game.

3 RespuestasPlay to win. Anything else is scrub mentality. You should feel good that you took time to evaluate your game play and made an effort to change it. I got crushed by blink shotguns last night in IB. Guess what? I'm switching to my bladedancer subclass and learning the blink strategy. Do i feel dirty about it? Yup. But I want to win.

I consider it using a legit weapon to your advantage. True, skill needs to also be a factor. A poor player who uses no tactics would still perform poorly with the best weapon. However; if you have some decent skills, I think one of the "so called" OP weapons can enhance your game play in PVP. I felt much the same way you did. I had the Thorn, TLW, and the Hawkmoon, but I've never been a huge fan of hand cannons, and I'm more of a keep my distance player. I decided a few weeks ago that I just had to face the facts and get my butt in VoG Hard and get myself a Vex. I got lucky and had it drop for me. After upgrading it and taking it to the crucible, I have had a huge increase in my performance. The only downside I've found so far is that I get low on ammo and a few times have run out of primary ammo. In those cases, I just switch over to my shotgun and move in closer. Hopefully some new armor with "carry more fusion rifle ammo" perks will help. Don't be disgusted with yourself. Enjoy your new weapons and go kick some butt in the crucible!!

yeah man, i hear you. i turned to my vex after the 1st week. 2-3 now 8-4(last games got us good)

5 RespuestasIt doesn't matter the guns you choose, if they're OP they might make a difference in one or two battles but if you just plain suck (not saying I know if you do or not) you're not going to the lighthouse unless you're carried.

1 RespuestaI got flawless with one character. Ever. Last week. I used TLW/Red Death, ESpear/Found Verdict, and Jolders Hammer. Teamwork and communication are paramount. Good luck!

Resist the thorn brother! resist it! its evil! even the original owner turned into a crazed man! I still refuse to use thorn. Ill tough last word but never thorn. But my matador and last round spear are still cool lol.

I would say yes... but Bungie has broken me too. My Titan now uses Universal and a Predyth's Revenge, my Warlock a Thorn (and for Trial I will pair it with an LDR with Final Round), and my Hunter TLW. So now I will be Try Harding with the most Try Hard of Try Hards since Bungie refuses to balance Thorn and TLW (at lest other weapons can compete with Vex and Red Death), and Snipers in this game are just stupid (I believe that no one in Bungie has picked up let alone fired a gun).
