In the Trials of Osiris, you need to be cautious of your surroundings and aware of who's alive. You also need to be able to kill the enemy team quickly so that their teammates are not allotted the time to revive their teammates. Not only are those qualities a show of skill, it's a show of teamwork and communcation, qualities I'd look for in a teammate if I wanted them in PVP. That goes against Destiny's intentions in regards to customizability and the fact that you can take weapons you find off PVP, into PVP. You're taking two different IPs and trying to find similarities where there probably isn't any. Perhaps you should look at Destiny as a new game (because y'know... it is) and see why it's such a great game in of itself. I can name quite a few that are much more deserving of that title. In the end, all of your complaints seem to stem from your emotions, and does not seem to hold any factual reasoning behind them. You want Guardians to conform to your specific needs, and that's a selfish thought to have. Perhaps you should work on your introspection before you judge and criticize other players, hm?

To elaborate a bit on my earlier post, the problem is that most people defending the Thorn, The Last Word, Hawkmoon, Mythoclast, shotguns, Last Round snipers, etc, are either using some of those things themselves, so they'll say anything to defend what they're doing, or they just do the forum equivalent of covering their ears and going [i]la la la la la la la[/i], which is usually something along the lines of [i]'git gud scrub'[/i] or [i]'cry mote salty tearz'[/i], and people that leave those type of replies are never to be taken seriously anyway. These weapons are so powerful that they create an imbalance whereby those weapons are pretty much [b]all[/b] you see used. And no, saying [i]'just use the weapon yourself if its so good'[/i], is not a valid counter argument. If the only counter to a handful of weapons is using those weapons yourself, that is a prime example of weapon imbalance. Let's say for example, there was a new weapon added to Destiny PvP. A rocket launcher, with regenerating ammo, that tracked targets and was a guaranteed one hit kill. And now for the sake of argument let's say that it was given to every player to make things [i]'fair.[/i]' A weapon of that magnitude would be so powerful that it would be the only weapon worth using. It wouldn't matter that everyone has one. If it's the only thing worth using, that's not balanced. And that's where these weapons sit right now. They are so head and shoulders above the other weapons that the other weapons pretty much aren't even considered for use. Perfect example of weapon imbalance. Can these weapons be beaten? Sure. They're not going to win every single engagement, but they will win the majority of the time. They are such powerful weapons that they are essentially [i]'idiot-proof'[/i]. Virtually anyone can do well with them. They make you, the player, better just by using it. Again, clear example of imbalance. Really though, these weapons are not the biggest problems with ToO. Don't get me wrong, weapon and class imbalances are a huge issue in PvP in general, but ToO itself is not set up properly to be competitive. If you want a truly competitive and skill-based 3v3 experience, you need: [i][b]-Level advantages DISABLED. -No supers (or maybe just no orb drops). -No exotics (or fine tune them so they're all viable). -Teams switch spawns after each round. -I also think there should be no heavy ammo round, but this is just a personal preference.[/b][/i] Supers, exotics and level advantages all have no place in competitive PvP, because all they do is give players an advantage over other players. If players can essentially [i]'equip'[/i] an advantage over other players (referring back to the weapons I've been talking about now also) then that is not competitive or skill-based. The only advantage a player should have is their own skill. That's it. The game can't be giving out more advantages on top of the players own skill. I played ToO last week and got my 9-0. It was a horrible experience though and not one I see myself going through again. Sorry for the long post. Just my 2 cents.

I'll cut to the chase we need OPTIONAL matchmaking in every thing. So in my opinion this is the difference between having a in game matchmaking and what we use today outside of the game for group matching. Today's way of endgame matchmaking. 1-Pick up phone 2-find lfg app that's wasting space on my phone 3- find a group that doesn't require the freaking gjallarhorn because I dont have one 4- once you find the group go into the message friend option on the console 5- try to spell the extremely long and ridiculous name of the person in charge of the group. 6- wait for response 7-get no response 8- repeat steps 1 through 6 9- finally get response 10- get Into group 11- halfway through RANDOM group people go afk or group fails. 12- repeat steps 1 through 11 The way it should be...... 1- start game 2- push matchmaking button 3-play game 4-have fun The elite payers can still have their premade games, people can still solo and the none elites can have matchmaking we all win!!!! All I ask is for the option.

Just playing devils advocate here but isn't identifying the best tactic and/or weapon part of good combat strategy. I suck at PvP so I'm not saying I am good enough to be able to do any real damage in ToO. But I don't think anyone with military training would feel the need to use a pistol against a sniper just to prove a point. At the end of the day you can tell someone they should feel bad about the way they won, but you will just sound like a sore loser and the score board won't care. It will show a winner. If it works you can't blame people for using it. Try to find a way to make their choice no longer an advantage. If you know 90% of people are going to fight a certain way that kind of gives you an advantage, or at least a potential advantage.

OP doesn't want to be told that he's wrong. He just wants to wallow in his own incompetence. I say let him.

They are skilled, face it. You probably tried to go thorn v. thorn against them and they out gunned you.
