My right analogue stick now drifts upwards.
:(
I'm finding out this is a common issue for Xbox one controllers. I've only had the controller since December yet my ancient white 360 controller works flawlessly. Oh, and in b4: "#offtopic" the random drift makes playing the game a chore (ha! see what I did thar?) and the struggle is real until I buy / fix this controller. Has this happened to any of you before? Does this happen for PS4 controllers?
Also, Microsoft has an F rating from the BBB whereas Sony has an A from them. Weigh in!

Shove a knife in the stick and pry it up and blow under, both my controllers did this and now they work perfectly
-
Happened on two of my Xbox one controllers Local store will charge me 25 to fix Might end up buying the parts myself on Amazon only like 5 dollars but you have to solder it on

Editado por Tomato Gravy: 5/18/2015 6:52:34 PMHappened to last 360 controller....constant slight drift to the left. Was definitely playable that way...just pretty annoying.
-
Had it happen to my left stick, horrible as you would go into your gun screen and walk off a cliff

1 RespuestaEditado por TANKTOLMAN: 5/18/2015 5:47:41 PMYeah it FRICKIN sucks!! Dismantling stuff is a chore!! Also sniping and straffing is retardly hard, falling off edges, can't dodge, my kd has gone downhill after my joystick broke

If the zero point of the analogue sticks is still set when the console is switched on, you could try holding the faulty stick up ever so slightly when you turn the console on, making that it's default position. Might fix the drift problem. You'll have to do it each time you turn the console on though. It used to be like this back in the day when analogue sticks were a new thing so not sure if they're the same these days. Worth a shot though

the only issue i have with my PS4 controllers, are the rubber on the sticks comes off so easily
-
Xbox one sucks PS4 is overall the best console
-
You must've gotten it sticky or something. I have 5 controllers that all work perfectly fine

Editado por Goruden Wulf: 5/18/2015 5:45:50 PMI had it happen on the left stick on my 360 controller. My XB1 controller is still going strong though

2 RespuestasEditado por nickpeck38: 5/18/2015 5:16:44 PMI have returned like 3 ps4 controllers due to garbage triggers and a dead battery, not to mention how fast those controllers wear out. They are better than the ps3 controller by far, but they don't last. As for the XBO controller, my launch controller had a sticky button but all of my other ones have been great. I haven't had any drift issues at all in any game. I had around 180hrs into the ps4 version and the rest in the xbo version. Played fine on both systems. Also, have you updated the controllers firmware at all yet? One more thing, never have the sticks bent when a game is loading, sometimes that will cause that issue (used to happen on the old systems as well).

2 RespuestasWell ya it's xbox built to break son you have spend more money.

Editado por Tonberry Killer: 5/18/2015 5:17:35 PMI had serious left stick drift on 2 different xbox 360 controllers. Was something to do with gunk in the stick mechanism causing changes to the dead zone over time (chalked it down to wear and tear). I replaced the stick arrays myself to solve the issue. Sad to hear this is happening to you on an xbone pad.
-
Had this happen on 360 aswell just a worn thumbstick either try to replace it or buy a new one if you can spare the money without cutting into expenses
-
1 RespuestaI just got one repaired from this, got it back, and now one of my other controllers has left stick drift

2 RespuestasEditado por Sanctus Michael: 5/18/2015 5:06:13 PMMine has done that a lot, drifting left or right, up or down. I took it apart and used a qtip and alcohol to slick off the stick ball assembly. I even went as far as use wd40. Works for a few months, depending how much you use it, and I have to do it again. I'd rather clean and/or oil it than buy a new one. I've had this controller since x1 launch and have easily 2000 or more hours on it

3 RespuestasI don't have any issues with my x1 or controllers but my ps4 randomly ejects the disc when I play sometimes and I just got it for Christmas a few months ago
-
Yea one of mine is doing that and idk how to fix it so I'm just using a spare i had...
-
Make sure you don't have any buttons/sticks out of their neutral positions when connecting the controller. Also, I'm sure there's some way to reset it. I'd take a look at the XB tech forums.
-
My Xbox one controller does it too.
-
I've had controllers do this in the past. Usually from being cared for in a way that is not optimal. Nothing like this so far on my XB1 controllers that I've had since launch.
-
Been using the same ones since 2013 no issues yet (knock on wood) have done a solfware update on your controllers might fix it if it's a solfware issue
