I only got a PS3 at Christmas (yes I know a Christmas noob), but I've heard in a lit of places that games for PS3 will start fizzling out.
In particular Comet for Destiny, a lot of people are using the argument that PS3 is 8 years old and people should stop supporting old gen as its holding gaming back.
So is it worth investing in a PS4, even though it'll take more money overall?
Edit 1: Thankyou for all the replies!! Especially to those if you who told me featured I had no idea about! I'll defo start saving up for a ps4, hopefully I won't finally get it when it becomes last gen x)
Edit 2: Ermagerd Trernding
Edit 3: Thankyou for all the answers!! All of your opinions are so varied, but from what I've seen I've changed my mind (surprise surprise lol) and I'll hold off buying a ps4 (for now) because I may as well make the most of what I've got so far :P

Editado por bbaarr: 5/4/2015 3:07:29 PMwell i have both but from the moment i had the ps4 i never used ps3 anymore. Indeed ps3 is an old game machine (but there are many great games for ps3). Dont know how playing destiny is on ps3 though. Bought it for ps4. Really like the easy way you can record gameplay on the ps4 also. When i bought the ps4 last year there were not so many titles for ps4 but since i got destiny i dont have time to play other games :) EDIT I forgot to mention (as someone commented) the earphone (mono) with mike that plugs into your PS4 controller.... works very handy!!

PS4 has the largest community for Destiny. Also PS4 is probably the best choice for this gen even disregarding Destiny; better exclusives at the moment in my opinion. Hoping Xbox One gets some good games soon, I want one for Sunset Overdrive but one game can't justify a purchase.
-
Hate to say it but the PS3 is slowly dying whenever I go on it I only have like 2 friends on and then I go on my ps4 and I have like 20-30 people on lol.
-
100% yes.

7 RespuestasI have PS3 and I don't mind the blocky shadows or longer load times (except when I want to use a heavy synth). If destiny abandons last gen I may consider upgrading. I see no reason to spend 400+ to make other happy. I have other priorities like one kid in college and the other in preschool.
-
Not at all! I was gonna upgrade to a computer or writing on paper too but, frankly, chiseling on these stone tablets works perfectly fine.
-
3 Respuestas...if you like: using synths during a raid, team chat, faster loading, 'improved' latency, the future, less hand-cramp from extended play, and anything else after the year 2005... Then yeah, maybe you should.

Editado por Drewcifer: 5/4/2015 8:35:35 PMPersonally I could not stand the ps3 and owned a 360. Butttt I can't stand the XBone and I love my PS4! If you have the money to upgrade I say go for it! All your Destiny progress is saved to the Bungie servers so you can as long as you stick to the same platform (ps3 to ps4 or 360 to one) then your character, weapons, and missions progress is saved. The Ps4 has a lot of great features and it just has a simple and easy to navigate dashboard gui. It's also very ascetically pleasing! Edit: Also the controller for the PS4 is just amazingly comfortable and I'd even call it over engineered!
-
No dude I would save my money if I was you there's nothing really on the PlayStation four I would stick with the PS3 they got a great library plenty of games you won't get bored plus I don't care what anybody says it's just not worth upgrading not yet anyway
-
2 RespuestasWorth it kinda but don't see it as a obligation see it as a option

1 RespuestaThe new PS4s should be coming out later this year. You should probably wait until then.
-
1 RespuestaIf you are in UK just do what i did get Argos card they have a deal buy now pay 12 month later. You can pay as much as you like every month as long as you pay the whole amount by the end of 12 month. If you are not in UK am sure there are same offers where you are.
-
God yes, I felt the same as you until I got one, and then knowing I can use a hvy ammo synth in under 4-5 seconds? Amazing.
-
2 RespuestasYou get Destiny free if you switch to new gen I believe Yes it's worth it!(:
-
Yes! Everything is way better! Faster system, teamspeak, graphics etc.
-
Yes do it
-
I think ps3 is the worst console ever and ps4 is the best atm. Everything is better escp. The Controller is awesome
-
4 RespuestasNo duh, ps4 is fsr better graphics and performance wise, and all games will start being ps4 only
-
At the end of the day I would say it's completely personal preference. However eventually they will stop making games for the older systems and you will most likely want a PS4. I used to be a huge Xbox fan girl when the original was released along with the 360. When Microsoft and Sony both had their press releases for the new systems I decided to switch to PS4. I am so glad that I decided to switch. I absolutely love my PS4. Although I have to admit I still really want to play the new Halo when it's released.

2 RespuestasYes because bloodborne
-
1 RespuestaYes I was like you till a month ago when I switched over not sure if I should or not if it was worth it did it on a wing but a year sub and amazed
-
Yes true 1080
-
Yes in short, but there is a good arguement for no. Games are not being produced soley for ps4 rather than multi platform, so in that regards you will miss out on newer games -and there is always the graphical grunt arguement. Also the hardware is newer, better and with more personalisation and sharing options than previous gen. That said, there are some epic games previous generation that you will miss out on by moving straight up. Bottom line, your choice. If more friends are next gen thats also an arguement for
