I have played this game since Day 1, and I enjoy both PvE and PvP. in the most recent weapon update Bungie put out a new balance patch. In the new patch AR's were nerfed and HC's range was reduced.
In my latest adventure in pvp, Almost everyone is using an exotic Handcannon, with the occasional Red Death, and even rarer Multi-tool (the weapon I love to use in pvp). While some might think we should nerf these handcannons we need to look at the whole story.
The maps we are playing in 6v6 are designed for these types of weapons. Most of the time players are within the range were handcannons are most effective. with that said i think a few changes can be made toward make crucible more balanced.
1. Thorn: reduce burn damage to a point where it can't 2 headshot all opponents, only low armor players.
2. TLW: fix bug where the hip fire damage sometimes procs while ADS, further reduce effective range and increase damage drop off.
3. hawkmoon: I think this gun is fine. It can only 2 shot if a lucky bullet gets proc'd
I would also leave damage on AR's right where it is, but I would increase the crit multiplier from 1.25x to 1.5x. This would reward headshots and make these guns more viable in PvP and PvE.

1 RespuestaThe only reason Exotic Hand Cannons seem overpowered is because Auto Rifles can't reliably flinch them to death. A high RoF pulse rifle can do much the same thing; the vendor Time on Target is rather ideal when fitted with High Caliber Rounds.

Cry baby

Hand cannons are fine. The only problem there is are the Ars are to weak in pve and pvp. No to nerfs
-
1 RespuestaI actually have to agree with you here. Btw thank you for putting a detailed fix in rather than doing what the others are doing.
-
1 RespuestaPlease stop crying for nerfs, thanks.
-
3 Respuestashow about....we stop nerfing guns and start realising these weapons only seem overpowered because of how small the maps are
-
7 RespuestasBoo hoo bitch. Go play minecraft . Say no to nerf'ers.
-
1 RespuestaTo those saying not to nerf anything. I am there with you. I am not a huge fan of making constant changes to guns, but I also do see that the crucible has become very uninspired due to everyone using the same weapon. I am all for variety, the changes I posted above do not effect PvE at all (thorn damage nerf only effecting PvP), and would even be a buff to PvE as AR's would become a usable weapon class again.

Editado por TheArtist: 4/27/2015 12:45:38 PM...and the game of musical chairs starts all over again. Meanwhile one of the few PvE weapons that's effective for end game player gets its teeth yanked too. Leaving the majority of the game's players with nothing to use against OP end game enemies. ENOUGH WITH THE NERFS ALREADY. Sometimes the other guy is just BETTER than you are. Hand cannons don't need to be nerfed. HC are dominating because ARs got nerfed to the point of uselessness, And Shotguns and FR got nerfed and their ammo restricted. ...and human opponents aren't going to continue to handicap themselves with an UP weapon. If you want to see a wider variety of weapons used, buff ARs back to their pre 1.1.1 damage levels and leave all the other weapons alone.
-
Thorn DoT is not what makes it OP. It's the fire rate. Hand Cannons need a nerf to fire rate in general. Top to bottom, the DPS is too good compared to other weapon classes.
-
Editado por STINKMEANER632: 4/27/2015 12:19:48 PMI think everyone uses a hand cannon because they have not been nerfed yet. Now you want them nerfed too. Yeah I know you didn't say nerfed you said adjustment but it's still a nerf. It's the adjustments that keep hurting pvp. Its like an endless circle of changes from weapon type to another weapon type to special ammo. Why can't we put all weapons to the way they were from day one and STOP messing with them. You don't see cod or battlefield adjusting guns and people play those just fine.

1 RespuestaI speak for myself in this matter when it comes to head shots. With my pvp playing skills I can't make consistent head shots. I just got my thorn now everybody wants a nerf. Screw that! I've been slaughtered by them in the past and still get my ass handed to me by them but trudge on. I'm not bitching about it. Don't Nerf ANYTHING!!!
-
Hawkmun is fine! Haha, your argument is now invalid. Personally I believe it is the maps types that should be changed, so therefore those who like shotguns and hand cannons can thrive in small maps, pulse and ARs in medium and scouts and snipers in large.
-
I saw this post and thought it was another "I suck, so let's nerf handcannons!" But I read it and see that you ask for rational changes to Thorn and The Last word. I think Thorn is fine the way it is, but I don't mind if they reduced the damage to where it can't two shot anymore. However, I disagree with one thing on here. TLW needs no range nerf. It is already barely there. The damage dropoff should be more severe though. Since looking by its stats, it's intended range is about from my face to my phone's screen. But this should only be implemented if there is a real problem with people shooting outside its intended range. Which they aren't. No one is sniping with it so I say leave it be.
-
The only change that should be made to handcannons is that they should moderately decrease the aim assist in them. Handcannons are supposed to be the skillful headshot weapons, however at the moment they are pretty much magnetized to the head. Damage is fine on all of them, just make it take more skill to use.

2 RespuestasThese posts are the reason why PvP suck now....
-
1 RespuestaThe head shot crit multiplier does nothing for the fast RoF auto riffles. They need higher bases.
-
I agree with your ar buff, and the handcannon nerfs are fine. We should be rewarded for getting headshots no matter the weapon. But at 1.25x on a pea shooter. Which is what pretty much every ar is it doesn't make a big difference at all. They pretty much ruined ar when they reduced the crit multiplier awhile ago.
-
Sure let me get right on that..:)
-
1 RespuestaIt's not 2 headshot, at least I've tried and it usually leaves them with a prick of health
-
4 RespuestasThe makes no sense when most people that use AR effectively aim for the head anyway and the buff your asking for would basically undo what just they did. You better just asking them to return them back to normal.
-
TLW damage drop off is a great idea, Thorn might need the same thing so people stop sniping with it...And hawkmoon too...No reason handcannons should 2-3 shot me across the map
-
Completely agree
-
1 RespuestaWell done I completely agree. Consistent two trigger pull kills shouldn't exist on high rate of fire guns.
