Personally, after [b][u]SIX Iron Banner events in a row[/u][/b], I'm not too excited by yet another PvP event, but that's just me. The new gear is nice, but doesn't look worth the hassle. As for the supposed horde mode that they're banking everything on, we will see, but that doesn't make the lack of a new raid any less disappointing.
