I have given up on the show after it crashed into a mountain in the newer episodes. Since 2004, I've only seen a few decent episodes. Are some of the 2015 ones ACTUALLY as good as the old ones?

No. I was talking about the second film and an episode in 2009 called sand castles in the sand that were almost as good as the old ones.
