Opinions on Thorn in PVP
Alright so I've seen a lot of conflict about the Thorn and about how it is "Op" So I made this thread so you can express your opinion.
My opinion is that the only thing that is bad about thorn, is the poisoning. It's not a huge deal, I'm not gonna cry "Omg I got killed by thorn, Bungie nerf plz!!" The annoying part is how you can prevail in a gun fight and still die. (I know sticky grenades but they have to recharge) I don't really care if it gets nerfed or not.

I hate saying weapons are overpowered. But Thorn kinda is. BUT it's an exotic weapon and deserves to be OP.

Doesn't matter how good the gun is,if you can't aim and get the head shot's, i have all these so called op guns,but im old and reflexes aren't as good as they used to be. Good players will kill you with any gun's, people find it hard to accept they were outclassed and blame the guns for being op.

I've beaten Thorn with Word Of Crota, which is actually ironic since I'm using WoC for the PVP section of the Thorn's bounty ... So I think it's a good weapon but it's not OP.

It's fine the way it is. I very rarely use it. It doesn't make me mad to die to it.

Take off Mark of the Devourer (spelling?) in PvP only and then I don't care. That's the only thing I don't like about it.

1 RespuestaThorn isn't op, besides all PvP is now is people blinking around with shotguns, TLW kills faster and has way more range than the stats show, red death and bad juju kill quite fast as well. Never understood the big deal about the thorn poison, two headshots with any handcannon leave you with a sliver of health, thorn just makes it soif you run after being hit twice in the head you still die. It's powerful, but I don't think it's op, people just have a tendency to whine about everything in PvP they die from....

Either one of the other exotic handcannons or even a fast fire rate legendary one can beat thorn. Even as a 32 with it maxed it takes 3 shots to kill, and they have to be at least a little spaced out to have the burn refresh.

I think that Thorn is slightly OP the way it is now. The player should have to land 2 headshots before Thorn's DoT will activate at all. Most players land a couple body shots and run away letting the DoT do the rest.

Red Death cancels out the damage over time perk on Thorn. Xur just sold it. That means if you aren't using it and you get killed by Thorn, then its your fault. Also, Thorn used to suck and they buffed it, which made it the best weapon in PvP at the time. Its still good, but not as good as pulse rifles now. Bungie has a knack for rotating weapons thru the "OP" group of weapons.

2 RespuestasThe only thing I think should change is, while using it in pvp, the bleed out numbers should not show. I would even push that and say no damage numbers should ever show and no crosshair impact indicators either.

its an exotic, it should be OP. I use it, i dont care who thinks what about that. Let me play how i want, I'll let you play how you want. By the way, thorn did get nerfed along with all the other hand cannons. I'm tired of nerfs. They ruin the game.

It's fine. The only time it's annoying is if they tag you when you're already low and it bleeds you out. Just let out a little chuckle every time you see someone running it, they probably suck with other weapons.

According to the storyline, it's famous wielder was rank 1 in the crucible. Therefore, it being a rank 1 weapon makes sense. To boot, it was garbage for a very long time. It was considered the worst exotic hand cannon.

I'm much more effective with TLW or Hawkmoon, and when I face Thorn users I can combat them pretty effectively. So I don't really see any issue with it.
