Whats the point of these power ratings once a weapon is fully leveled then it has the same power rating as any other fully upgraded weapon of that level and rarity.
Obviously a fully upgraded suros isn't going to do the same damage as a fully upgraded icebreaker or gjally yet they will have the same power rating.
Why is this number there? I assume that its the equivalent to item level (ilevel) that is in certain games like diablo and wow. In destinys case however its barely useful. Couldn't we instead have a rough dps stat, as i am sure that Suros and hard light or monte carlo or necrochasm would all do different damage despite having same rating and being same class.
Not complaining but rather observation of a stat that confuses me.

The attack value determines your guns effective enemy level range. Its attack value divided by 15. So 300 weapons will have capped damage on enemies level 20 or lower. So a higher attack weapon like a 331 that is identical to the 300 will do no extra damage to a level 20 or lower. Impact also determines damage and your level compared to your enemies level.
