Earned HoTPF has higher stats than bought ones.. It's easy to tell who earned vs who bought
Edit: apparently people have gotten screwed and gotten a shitty roll.. I got mine from a legendary engram from an omnigul heroic soloing it till the end and had two buddy's join when she way 1/4 left on health.. I definitely earned that shit

Nailed it man...funny that there are people saying anything like that because if you really want you just buy one than upgrade it with xur later twice now I've done it to my saint 14 and I might just do it again because I can...i think its intellect for that one but anyway it was an original than xur had a better one than the one I upgraded ..bout that...upgraded it...so I assume I will do the same with my hunter and warlocks exotics as well

Yeah if you just wait for xur to sell the upgrade you can make the stats higher if you like that equipment enough
