Have you received red death recently? From end game.
My first raid last week and I get red death from ir yut. In the past month have you received it?
If yes this shows how the rng works, weapons and armour have weight, and currently red death is very "heavy", meaning higher chance to get it.

The red death is likely one of yore rarest exotics, and yet it's been frequently obtaiNed this month. It seems that each month, which gives a casual player 28 chances not even including random drops, to get an exotic.
Next month we'll have to see what the "token" exotic will be.

I don't remember how I got mine exactly. I know I didn't get it from xur i'm sure. Unless he's sold it twice. Mine's capped at 300 though. Haven't bothered to upgrade it to the new damage value.

Been playing since day one Alpha. I promise each character is locked into a loot table. I bet 90 percent of people who have every exotic had more than three characters. The ten percent that have them just got super lucky with their three loot tables.

Sounds like confirmation bias to me - you got Red Death recently, you didn't get it in the past, so that means it must be more likely to drop now compared to months previous. I myself got Red Death for the first time last week, but I also got Universal Remote for the first time this week - does that mean it's weighted to drop more frequently now? Nope, it was just random and it happened to be a weapon I didn't have. I only need Hard Light now by the way. In addition to UR, I've also had No Land Beyond and Ice Breaker drop this week. Again, it was random but they were weapons I happened to have already.

I got red death from atheon last night and thunder lord after on different character!

I got Red Death from the Gorgon exotic chest the last week that VoG was dropping max 300 exotics. Go figure....now I just need Xur to sell the upgrade.

One from crota this week but my first was obtained from vog chest between normal and release of hard crota .

I've got 2 red death in 1 raid. First by ir yût and the second from crota 10 minutes later

It's literally the only weapon I want right now. I love pulse rifles and can't wait for them to be buffed. However, I probably still won't be able to use bad juju that effectively since it's the low impact kind of pulse but red death is perfect.
