Finally received and upgraded my Mythoclast. It's not worth using. In comparison to my VoC, it's trash.
The VoC has the same RoF, a little more impact, a little less range, a lot less stability, the same reload speed and more ammo.
Just messing around with both, the Mythoclast does body shots at 74 damage and 86 when the perk is avtive. Where the VoC hits consistent at 184. Critical shots the Mythoclast hits for 203 and 314 with the perk. The VoC is well over 400 damage.
On top of that; even though they have the same stability perk, and the Mythoclast has a higher stability and range rating, it is not as stable as the VoC. The Mythoclast has the upward creep of a pulse rifle. Start in the chest, and let it walk up to the head. VoC, you can put it on the head...and it stays there.
Not having the Mythoclast before the nerf; I can not imagine it was doing that much more damage that it needed to be nerfed to do less damage than it's closest counter part. It seems people may have gotten the fact it was a primary fusion rifle, and over exaggerated it's capabilities.
You put a good weapon in the hands of a good player, and he will dominate. You put a good weapon in the hands of a poor player, and he will still be a poor player. The person makes the weapon, not the other way around.
Bungie, you mad a mistake in nerfing the Mythoclast. Maybe you did it because so many people were getting it pushing Atheon. But you fixed that. Now fix the Mythoclast, and restore it to what it was.
Edit 1: Yes, I said that RoF are the same. If you compare them side my side in game the bars match. It very well may shoot faster, but for simplicity I am using Bungies stats
Edit 2: Charge rate is the same as Rate of fire, as it shoots as soon as it's charged. It's not like you are walking around with it charged waiting to fire..
