Would we still be the top predator?
So let me clarify, if every animal had the average human intelligence, would we still be at the top of the food chain?
What sets us above the rest?
I'm going with adaptability and thumbs.

Who's intelligence are we talking about here?

2 RespuestasSo take a lion and stack human intelligence on top of it's speed, strength, claws and teeth. I'd be dead.
and so would you
-
2 RespuestasNow the sheep can scream my name when I -blam!- it. That's not a bad idea.

6 RespuestasEditado por Miraak: 11/27/2014 1:09:56 AMWe can speak. They cant. Therefore their communities would be much less structured than ours, and less broad. They would not be able to make alliances with each other. They would simply have superior hunting strategies and the ability to realize when they are being led to slaughter. Not to mention, animals would realize that if they kill one of us, we would kill dozens of them.

1 RespuestaThe reason we are so "smart" is because we don't have super strength, speed, agility, flight, laser beam vision. That why other animals don't need it. If they did then we'd be f**ked. You already know raptors would take over the world if they ever came back

We most certainly would be. And the world would be a much, much more depressing place. :. (

1 RespuestaI feel like dogs wouldn't change at all lmao

1 RespuestaIf every animal had average human intelligence a few animals would probably get a little less intelligent

3 RespuestasYeah, opposable thumbs still win. - Der

2 RespuestasMantis shrimp would solo easily.

3 RespuestasIf they had our intelligence, they would start wars within their own species. If they decided to "move up the food chain" I'm sure our technology would be our saving grace.
-
4 RespuestasI wonder if the animals would start killing each other just as we kill each other
-
4 RespuestasIf animals were as smart as average humans i guess hyenas would be douchebags makin stupid jokes and laughing like retards, cows would twerk, and baboons would be their rivals, bears would be slobs, cheetas would be olympist runners and kangaroos would be boxers/basketball players/ soccer moms.... any other strange thing that comes to ur head?

Lol nope I mean hell look at chimps opposable thumbs ambidextrous able to use tools etc and the average chimp while standing at a mere 4-5ft tall has the equivalent strength of 5 men they can literally just rip your arm off now give them our intelligible tactics and abilities it's dawn of the planet of the apes except we are the ones living in Wooden tree houses. Also giving a species out intelligence doesn't mean they would be able to do what we can a lion can't stand up not does it have opposable digits so it would create working technology until it evolved a lil more.

Octopi would make land suits and conquer.
-
I don't like the idea of a Pistol Shrimp deliberately shooting at my balls while I'm still swimming.
-
Probably not, we'd likely be on even ground. Other species' may forge tools suitable to their anatomy.
-
Lol first thing I thought was thumbs
-
No we wouldn't. They'd outsmart us and kill us. They have our intelligence, so we don't have that over them, and their predatory instinct, which we've lost in the absence of exposure to predatory dangers in a modern society.
-
PETA would be proud.
-
I would say a definitive no. We wouldn't survive. Way too many deadly creatures that still kill us without average human intelligence.

15 RespuestasWhat intelligence? Humans are -blam!-ing stupid. Only a select few are what you would consider intelligent.
-
2 RespuestasGorillas have thumbs too and better teamwork. Plus they are huge, strong and can climb better than assassins. What do we do against Gorilla snipers? :/
-
6 RespuestasCheetas would probably be WAY up there on the top, good eye sight, good reflexes, top speed, stealth, strength to rip us apart... well certain creatures, not all. we'd be extinced in maximum a few years.
