I'll be getting a next-gen console in a few months, most likely at the end of this year or the beginning of next.
I'm wondering if I should wait to buy Destiny on next-gen, or if I should buy it on last-gen, and then buy it again on next-gen.
Note: I might be switching from Xbox (360) to PS(4) - still undecided.
If I do that, I won't be able to keep my character, and I don't want to make one, then have to start all over. (If I bought Destiny on last-gen, I wouldn't keep it when I bought it for next-gen)
Another reason I might want to wait is so I can save a bit of money. You know, not have to pay for the game twice.
These are all good reasons to wait... but that means I have to about 4 months. Thoughts?

1 RespuestaYou can also trade in Destiny for 360 to the xbox 1 version for a slight price difference

Get xbox one

3 RespuestasI will be playing Destiny on my Xbox 360. For the next games in the series I will be playing on Xbox One. I wanted to be on PS4, but after I tried the controller, it felt way too weird in my hands. Felt too long. Not comfortable at all.

2 RespuestasRemember if you buy it for 360, your profile will only transfer to X1. Keep that in mind if you're going to be switching from 360 to PS4!
-
1 RespuestaIf you buy it on previous gen I think gamestop has a thing were you can exchange it in for xbox one version at discount?
-
Wait, because you'll never truly enjoy it on old gen because you know its only temporary.
-
I would buy it for last gen then when you do get a next gen. Just go upgrade or trade it in at gamestop or where ever for next gen version. Depending on if you get a PS(4) instead of an Xbox One.

I had the same situation (360 to PS4) as you do. I chose to leave my friends on the 360 behind due to gaming differences (IRL friends play different things than I enjoy). Depending on which next gen console you're going to should make your buy now or later decision clear.

3 RespuestasWait for it. I can give you several other reasons. 1- The first months every game is buggy. When you get it later you can play through a cleaner version. 2- Avoid the hype-train! Servers will be clogged a first with people who will put it down in a few weeks/months anyway. 3- Finish old games first. Got any games laying around you still want to finish/100%/play? Do that first so you can focus your attention on Destiny. 4- Got friends? Find out who will play Destiny early or later. You can meet up with the later ones and ask the early ones for tips. 5- Fresh console, Fresh game. A new console works better than old ones. Everyone knows that. So play Destiny the best you can. and many more pro's can be found like that. As for the cons... 1- Spoilers. Stay away from this site, youtube or anything that might be a spoil for you. 2- People bragging/bothering you. Will happen either way for sure, but you wont be a "first day player" so people might bitch at that.

If you are going to 360 to PS4 DO NOT buy it on the 360 your character will not transfer and you just wasted time and money. If you are going to get a Xbox One then you can trade in the game for a xbox one copy and your character will transfer.

Buy next gen .. games on 360/ps3 just aint the money no more

Editado por LogicalHuman: 8/4/2014 9:59:18 PMIf you decide to buy the game for 360, and then get an Xbox One and trade in your copy of Destiny for an Xbox One copy, you'll be able to have your Xbox 360 characters on your Xbox One. Your characters will transfer seamlessly from last gen to next gen and vice-versa, but not cross-platform. Or you can wait until you get a PS4, and get a copy of Destiny with it.

9 RespuestasWell, if you're considering buying a PS4, it seems like you aren't tied to Microsoft due to friends or anything. If that's the case, it's pretty much a fact Destiny is going to be better on PS4 simply because we have access to content sooner. So if you want better Destiny, get a PS4. PS4 has a cheaper online service that pays for most of itself with the free games you get. It now has party chat that has worked well for me, and personally I think it's a better overall console. Sony has some great exclusive like Infamous, Uncharted, Bloodborne (which will probably be awesome), The Last of Us, etc. etc. if you aren't familiar with the games. If you were to wait 4 months to play Destiny, I don't think you would miss much aside from just playing the game. At that point DLC may be out, so you'll have those from the beginning and not have to wait, which could be a positive. Hitting level 20 doesn't take forever, so you wouldn't be THAT far behind any friends, potentially. I would say go for the PS4 regardless, and decide if the 4 months is worth another 60 bucks, and if you'd want to start over. If you sold your 360 and didn't buy the 360 version of Destiny, that would also make buying the PS4 easier.

1 RespuestaChange your pre order to ps4 and then just wait till you get one. Or play it on 360 and trade it in when u get a ps4 and get the ps4 version.
-
I'm in the same boat. Just going to have to suck it up and start over when I make the switch.
-
Wait for the next gen console.

1 RespuestaBuy ps4 now or wait

1 RespuestaIf your jumping from 360 to Ps4 I say wait but if you would get an Xbox1 I would say buy at launch.

1 RespuestaBuy it now! How can you wait until December to play. Especially since your progress will carry over to the new generation systems unless you decide to switch brands.
