I used to want beta progress to carry over, but now that I think about it I don't. Many people would have an unfair advantage. All those people who just farmed glimmer and leveled up their cryptarch level to get legendary and exotic weapons I'm looking at you. I did the strike mission over and over to grind for better gear and got some good stuff like my level 10 rare shingen-e auto rifle and my level 10 rare shotgun. If it means giving those weapons I grounded for to get rid of the exotics and legendaries people got unfairly (in my opinion of course) then I'm game i don't mind. Besides a fresh start would be nice. Also I don't think cryptarch level should raise when buying stuff from him. That should just give you a chance at better weapons and armor. Cryptarch level should only raise when you bring I identified gear you got from grinding. That's just my opinion though I'm sure others think differently.

The criptarch isn't really a bad way to get weapons it is a legitimate way to get gear like that and I didn't get any if you were wondering

Well in my opinion it shouldn't level when you buy from him. That makes people farm glimmer and buy things from him. If you can only level it from the items you find then I think it's a good way to get items because it's more of a gamble to get a good item.

I agree with that I didn't even think you got experience until the end of the beta I only bought from him because you could get better stuff than what the gunsmith gives

Same I bought a few trying to get a better shotgun. I didn't get one but I did get a nice sniper and fusion rifle

I think you should get exp for buying gear. Only reason it's another reason to get people to spend currency. Every game like this wants to make sure currency is being used and depleted, this is just another way to do that. People may not use him as much if they didn't get the experience. Just the way I see it, it's a currency sink. Otherwise people would just save it for the gunsmith vendor.

Well it could still be a money sink. You can buy the unidentified gear to try to get better weapons and gear. I got my cryptarch level to 4 without farming glimmer and buying stuff from him. Even with leveling you shouldn't be able to get legendary or exotic gear. What would be the point of high level strike missions and raids if you only need to farm glimmer for a few hours and level up cryptarch to get good gear?

It was only that easy for beta and testing the system I am sure. I bet you it'll be tons harder on release to get rare gear that way. And second if I didn't get experience from him I know I wouldn't use him, there are other money sinks I would rather spend on than a game of chance. Since I get something else out of it, experience, I will use him.
