I felt Halo 3:ODST was quite open and had a bit of exploration in it however it was extremely linear.
So what do people really want in an open world halo?
There isn't much to do in terms of an open world military shooter and if it has been done I haven't heard anything like it.

1 RespuestaThere was a halo open world game long ago..i think it was back in 2008 (or was it 2007?) Well the point is it was much like destiny and mmos and the programming has already begun but big M (Microsoft) gives a shit about it and turn the game off and the game us still on ice but i think they wont reboot it Its not going to public too much but there a few ingame images from early alpha

Editado por Cleanest_thunder: 7/3/2014 8:59:16 PMFarcry 3 was an insanely succesful open world shooter. It can work but I personally Dont think that halo should go open world

Halo 5 playing as agent Locke exploring a planet where chief was on and you find clues and it flashes back and you play as chief sort like odst in a way. That would never happen could work.

1 RespuestaWHAT IS HALO

12 RespuestasBecause they can't bring themselves to admit halo is shit. So they try and change it to make it like other games. No matter how much they make it like other good games, it still sucks ass because it's a shit-tier series.

5 RespuestasAs ODST proved, there isn't a hell of a lot of canonical reasons worth exploring a Halo level for. The most useful thing you can find is a weapons cache, and there are also Terminals and Skulls, but nothing much more. Not like in a multitude of open-world games that pull of gameplay much better. You can't upgrade in Halo, you can't change John's armour aesthetic, you can't use currency, there's no morality system. There are no in-fiction reasons (or rather, rewards) for exploring, besides the two above.

I don't care what they do with Halo 5

What is wrong with a linear, FPS game? Wolfenstein: NO has proved that it is still a superb formula when done correctly

I don't want a open world halo I just want original halo with an amazing campaign and halo 3 like mp
-
Meh. I don't really see the appeal. It was nifty in ODST, but that was just boring after a while. Now, if there was an occasional Marine squad fending off a Covie ambush, or maybe even a Scarab or two swaggin' around, it would've been more interesting... Ah, well. It is what it is.

Open world a la metroid would be cool. But without upgrades and such it would be bland. Maybe if you had to gather something like key cards to get into certain areas it could work. Maybe.
-
I think an open-world, Forerunner-regime style TPS would be amazing. Play as Bornstellar or something.
-
I don't...
-
Because it would be awesome
-
I would only like open world Halo if it were like Destiny, otherwise stick with the current formula.
-
I wouldn't say open world. More like more exploration per mission. Probably to get more of that "wow" feel when ttthey first played CE.

People want an open world Halo?
-
-Be able to travel to many worlds Mass Effect style -Lots and lots of lore -Take part in the campaigns of many battles throughout the Human-Covenant War

Editado por Sarah: 7/2/2014 7:55:47 AMIt would just be a gigantic map containing constant dynamic warfare and quiet places where it's safe to explore with the odd snipers and survivors waiting for extraction. I'd play that game all day. Sometimes you get to be a Spartan, most of the time you're a UNSC soldier or ODST. Or you can play as the Covenant. All species. Higher chance of being a Grunt, Jackal or Elite. Either you are more likely to spawn as the lower ranks, or you can choose your rank and higher ranks lead the lower to battle. If 5 people have taken up all 5 Spartan slots you have to be a lower unit. Not sure if people would like that system. There will of course be AI. Respawn at a vehicle depot. Hop in a Pelican, scorpion, mongoose, hornet or warthog. Travel wherever you like. Areas can be taken. Similar to PlanetSide 2. Home base can't be taken. Maybe both are entering the same planet from space. Then there's space combat. This is getting heavy. I can dream on.

I don't want an open world Halo but I would like for them to take out the stupid 10 second kill barriers. I -blam!-ing hate those things.

I think a more open world Halo would be great.
