Not utilizing the Touchpad/controller speaker on the PS4 is a HUGE mistake
You can use the touchpad in 5 different ways, it's like having 5 more buttons on your controller, you can swipe it in 4 different directions as well as pressing it as a button which is judging by the Alpha the only way to use it, Killzone: Shadow Fall proves this is possible.
Why are the PS4 users punished due to the inferior other console which doesn't have this feature? Also, please use the speakers on the Dualshock 4 in creative ways, like for instance, make it beep when you're near a loot?
The touchpad should be used for:
1- Good.GOD why hasn't anyone thought of using the swipe future to change weapons, I have to keep pressing on the triangle just to switch to the heavy weapon?! using the touchpad is faster and more intuitive.
2- Turning on the flashlight, or a heat/nightvision, don't tell me all them glowing eyes don't have special abilities, plus, it's the future, there's bound to be heat/nightvision goggles.
3- Assigning more gestures.
Not using the touchpad is like using DVDs on the PS3 just to satisfy the Xbox360 owners and keep things "balanced", this is unacceptable and completely lacking in console features that will enhance gameplay experience.
What do you guys suggest using the touchpad/DS4 speakers for. Please take note Bungie!

5 RespuestasI think the light bar is used well going red when your health is red, glowing yellow when you're supercharged. I think the speaker should be used for the ghost speaking and incoming transmissions from the tower. And finally I can't think of as much for the touch pad that wouldn't fundamentally change the game.

5 RespuestasI totally agree. My favorite PS4 feature is the speaker and so far only 3 games I own have used it. My favorite is Transistor because when the sword talks you can choose to have his voice come out of the controller speaker instead of the tv. It seems like a small thing but it really makes a big difference when playing for me. Maybe they could have the Ghost's voice come out of the speaker for PS4 users since he's always hovering near you.

I really have to agree on using the swipe pad to get to guns faster. They are really fun once you level them and unlock the different scopes. I just want to use them all.

1 RespuestaI think bungie should use the kinect to implement voice commands on the xbox. Why should xbox users be held back by the inferior other console that doesn't have this feature?

From a future PS 4 user , xbone is not inferior it just dosent have the EXACT SAME features as ps4

2 RespuestasI like the light bar changing color when you're super charged, or how it gets brighter when the flashlight is turned on. But I think you're right the touchpad, they should at least let you map it out in l like a custom setting.

Destiny is not a ps4 title it is coming out on ps3 360 and Xbone so that is why your touch pad probably isn't utilized. Granted your ideas are good you just need to realize that bungie has spent a lot of time developing this game for all 4 consoles

Were trying to keep it civil and breaks that stupid pS vs xbox war/stereotype and here you are... Ignorant as can be... It has nothing to do with the xbox controller not having touchpad because while it is the same game, they were developed for each console specifically. Good post, that's what alpha is for, suggestions and reports if errors but sad you chose to attack the other console to make your post more "controversial"
