We needed a body. He only had one character that was high enough level. After he did that character we told him to switch to the lower character and hide in the corner, let’s see if we can 5 man it. He never got teleported. He shot Atheon. It said immune. It was his first D2 VoG. Second Atheon. He got Vex. Two attempts, one of which where he did literally nothing.
Here I am at 39. Doesn’t matter.
I’ve done the raid without me personally dying. Doesn’t matter.
I’ve done every encounter with less than a full team. Doesn’t matter.
I’ve defeated Atheon on Master. Doesn’t matter.
I’ve Sherpaed people through. Doesn’t matter.
I’ve done every role for every encounter through to completion. Doesn’t matter.
Helped several people get their catalyst. Doesn’t matter.
This is literally the worst reward mechanic there is. Which, at this point why even call it a reward because apparently you can get it without even doing anything! His Vex is a participation trophy for just showing up!
It doesn’t reward ability. It doesn’t reward experience. It doesn’t reward time. It breeds disappointment and resentment, and leaves players helpless to do anything about it because there is NOTHING they can do to increase their chance. Nothing about how you actually play the raid matters, at all, in any way. How does that make any sense? It makes people feel like -blam!- and not want to play.
I can’t wait to see your lack of transparency when it comes to this in the TWAB.

Yep, took 45 clears for me. I had basically given up. I love raids, but the RNG is stupid.
