Stepping back from consistently grinding this game for about 3-4 weeks now here’s a few things I’ve noticed from the sidelines.
1. The community for Destiny 2 has to be one of the most toxic, rude, and elitist communities I’ve ever been a part of. Oh you want to talk about how raids are too hard and want some advice? “Too bad noob get gud” or my personal favorite “You just suck” are both very common replies.
2. PvP isn’t fun not even in the slightest anymore. Not even for a good player. The PvP in this game has no balance, there’s always gonna be that “meta” and if you don’t play it you’ll almost always lose. Then you have people who constantly complain about something being overpowered, so anything that’s good is immediately nerfed into the ground. Im not gonna sit here and explain why that makes PvP a bore.
3. At least a good 80% of this community wants things handed to them. I’ve seen more people say to make activities easier; that are meant to be hard more in this community than almost any other. Prime example, some of you want the transmog to be completely free of grind, currency and time. I get where you’re coming from, but seriously just think about what could do to the game. You think you’re bored now? Try having everything in the game, every armor set unlocked for transmog. You’d then only have maybe one or two new sets to do for that next upcoming season. Bungie did a smart move and made it so there’s always something to do involving transmog.
4. Last and final point. This community is no longer friendly even in the slightest very much anymore. I can’t even explain to you how many times I’ve been trying to teach a friend a raid, carry them through a GM, play trials (just in general) , or honestly even PvP. The amount of times I’ve had someone either leave, rage quit, curse me out, call me trash, say I’m useless or whatever else is truly baffling. I know toxicity is in every videogame, but this game is truly one of the worst.
It’s not that hard to change this, we just have to simply put ourself in someone else’s shoes. Think about the first time you had to learn a raid, the mechanics of a strike, went flawless, helped someone reach legend etc..
Everyone in this game deserves an equal chance to have fun and enjoy it. Without us (the vets) stepping up to help the newer players; this game will absolutely start to decline. Eyes up, guardians.

No one asks for raid advice . They just whine raids need to be made easier so solo players can do them.

There’s a lot of jabbing at people. Everyone is just being nasty. We should work on it.

2 RespuestasBack during Halo it was a nice place. Then Destiny arrived and it became this.

You can equip it anywhere. Grinding bounties for looks is garbage time wasting, nothing more. There is more then enough armor grind in getting perfect rng stat rolled 65+ armor with the right numbers in the stats you want not to mention multiple builds, builds that use other elements and masterworking said armor on top of that.

Of course you will run across the occasional individual who you don’t want to interact with, but that is just part of life. If you’re constantly having issues with “toxicity”, that’s not because of them. You can skip the lectures, the community doesn’t need them.

2 RespuestasWe should just all make a petition to leave this game

Agreed. I can’t even help my friend through a single raid without having to deal with pu55y 4ss elitists. And he’s been playing since The Taken King. A raid comes out, I learn it, then I try to teach my friend. By that time, everyone’s enforcing “kwtd, experienced only, etc.”

2 RespuestasYeah I agree with you. I never had a great experience playing the game. I have been trashed talked during Raids, getting help with Strikes, Crucible(Obviously), etc. I never had fun playing this game except for doing the story campaigns. The reason I don't have fun is because I am forced to play alone. Nobody wants to help me at all and it makes me sad. I never even got to join a clan and probably never will. I want to join my suggested clan but it seems it won't happen even if I were to ask. I don't get why people just make fun of me I am still somewhat new to Destiny and still learning. I am friendly and try to have fun but this community makes me just not want to at times. I mean was this game meant to bring others together right? Also that Guardians are stronger together? It seems people have forgotten about that which is depressing. So yeah I never had a great experiemce playing this game.

10 RespuestasBrother, did you just complain about getting shit for suggesting raids should be easier and then turn round and blast people who say things should be easier, accusing them of wanting a handout? In the same post, no less? Gobsmacking.

6 RespuestasCommunity is a reflection of the Company. Its gotten worse since Deej was asked to leave. Wonder what caused that? The Community managers dont even visit the forum anymore. It went completely downhill when D2 vanilla released and was a complete trash heap. During D1 the community was alot better.

It’s just the forums are really toxic because people only come here to complain as it’s designed as a feedback forum. Most people whining aren’t likely to play nice with everyone else.

I'd blame Bungie. It starts at the top.

I read everything and you sound more toxic than the actual experience players have in this game

Editado por IAGNRG: 7/24/2021 10:14:52 PMYeah, I rarely experience explicitly toxic people. Maybe here and there, but never completely outright. You sound like you’re mad though.
I do completely agree with point 3 though. That’s a major “get good” moment.
1 Respuesta1) Every video games community says the same exact thing about their community. It’s honestly old at this point. 2) I find PvP, what you said is completely subjective. 3) I agree, it’s a syndrome most game communities have these days. People don’t enjoy working for what they have, it’s easier to have it handed to them and humans always chose the path of least resistance. 4) Same as your first point. There are good and bad people in this community the same as every community. The Destiny community isn’t some sort of “special” community that doesn’t obey basic human physiology. It’s the same in every gaming community. My advice? Stop caring about the bad people.
