This. I’ve been saying the same thing, the wrong people are making pvp calls.
For years I’ve been wondering why Bungie Isent brining in top tier pvp players to get feedback, they are literally letting terrible pvp players decide what to do with pvp. It’s like bringing in a high school basketball player to coach the Lakers. They have no idea what good players are capable of and how to tune a sandbox to be aware of that. Stasis was clearly meant to sell a DLC, CLEARLY. I just think someone like Cammy or Panduh could offer insight on how to make the sandbox better if Bungie would just put their pride aside and actually listen to someone who just might know more than them. Like I think this is why Trials shipped half ass, they didn’t bring any actual hardcore trials players in to help make it better. I just don’t think that being a good game designer makes you a good sandbox balancer and I don’t think Bungie knows this yet.

Bungie have shown that they can tweak things different for the sandbox than to PvP. Aztecross highlights this. It’s an executive decision to keep things the way they are or continue to promote it. That’s why they call it space magic. I enjoy abilities. But I think they are simply overused and relied upon in PvP, especially with surplus and other weapon mods to help get those abilities faster. In PVE it is fine. Bungie simply need to bring on a proper PvP team. It seems that there isn’t one. Crucible could be so much more fun and intense. And that could be made into lore. Where there are game modes that your light is slightly suppressed in order to hone your more primary skill with guns - but not completely removed.
