Why do you hate pvp?
No judgement, just curious. I asked in a gambit thread and got zero answers.
I have a clan mate that never plays it, but enjoys invading and killing invaders in gambit. I can't remember his last reason, but he'll only play crucible for mayhem. Any quest he can't complete in mayhem he just abandons.
Feel free to clarify if you just hate crucible or all pvp. I have a few friends that love cod, but hate the shields etc in crucible.

Crucible is the worst. Slide shotty kills me. I revive and there he is again and I’m dead, repeat. I fire first, but his shot records first and I die. We both shoot and both melee and I die, every time. I’m told to get good, but that requires a certain amount of enjoyment. I hate Crucible because I’m not into getting beaten by superior weapons, faster internet, and pro controllers. I get mad and get a nasty adrenaline rush which makes me feel bad. I don’t need that. Gambit is different because it’s against ads. I get satisfaction from getting high score and beating the constant invader teams. They’re too busy invading and shooting us in the back to realize that we’re killing our boss.

I hate pvp because of PvP clans. I have nothing against people in pvp focused clans, I have full respect for them wanting to be the best at pvp and putting in the grind, but I hate going against them. I don't want to go against a -blam!-ing team of sweats when I just want a chill night in Crucible. And Stasis Titans. They just close distances for shotgun aping so quickly with the melee and slide, it's absurd. Never liked Titans and never will

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Gambit and get the most fun out of it. That said, I absolutely abhorre the Crucible, I don't enjoy it one bit, every moment I spend in it is a moment wasted from my life for a very good reason : I'm not a good PvPer, I neither have the time nor the will to dedicate enough of it in order to get better at classic PvP as showcased in the Crucible, 99.99% of players are better at it than me and that fact will not change anytime soon. Of course I would not have cared at all about this, considering everyone plays whatever it is that gives them the most enjoyment, IF I wasn't forced to do it by almost every good gun's quest. And that just drives me mad because all I want is to enjoy all the guns this game has to offer and the different ways to use them, I don't mind the grind one bit, just why does it HAVE to be in PvP?

For me it's the constant death. Before you say git gud I shoot first yet the enemy shreds me. I use a close quarters weapon yet the enemy kills me. Basically anything is just bs in pvp. Oh and that iron banner quest. Just no more. Please just stop.

The maps are way too small plus if you haven’t got a scuf controller then you get trampled.

I generally don’t care for PvP, but I strongly dislike the crucible. Not enough to abandon quests but enough to thank god in heaven when I finish a quest. I don’t mind the occasional match. I can even enjoy myself. It’s when I get to the fourth match that I stop having fun. I imagine it’s a combination of a couple of things. In the first match, I can overlook the annoying things about crucible. It’s my first match of the day, I likely haven’t seen all this BS for a week or more so it doesn’t immediately tick me off. Then the second match starts and I get shotgunned, over. And over. And over. And over again. I say okay that’s fine. It’s my second match. The third match starts. I take a turn and blam. There goes my head. Then I spawn and take a turn out of spawn and BLAM. My head is gone again. See where I’m going with this? So on and so forth till I get tired of it and turn off the game because my experience is so unfun I don’t even enjoy the feeling of melting something away with my 1K. And if you can ruin THAT for me, I will dislike you. You being crucible.

There are plenty of good reasons, because of sweaty try hards.

I like crucible . It definitely has its issues but for me the mechanics and overall feel of the game are top tier. IMO it’s the perfect blend of halo meets cod meets something all on its own.

- almost non-existent skill gap - no dedicated servers - sbmm in EVERY playlist except 1 - team balancing in classic mix is irritating if you’re a good player and playing solo

Matchmaking. Terrible. You will demolish your opponents one game then get steamrolled the next game. I just got the recluse and I am never going in crucible again

1 RespuestaMy only real issue is the inconsistency... some games work fine and feel fine..while others consist of bullets going thru walls into my head, and titan shoulders doing 180’s and killing me after I’ve gotten behind them.

I hate the low tick-rate that results in a lot of dumb stuff like missed shots, shots hitting you around corners, abilities not doing their effect even if they trigger and go on CD, etc. I also hate the lack of meta variety as far as "most effective" builds goes. Hand cannons are so far and away better than basically any other gun for 90% of crucible encounters that it's hampering to use most other primaries, which is sad. I hate inconsistencies of things, such as rift and barrier taking 10x longer to activate than something like dodge, to the point where playing reactionary with it is useless. Or how certain supers effectively do the same thing as other supers, yet have huge variances in how they do it... like spectral blades being aoe melee spam that lasts the full duration whereas sentinel melee hit registration is a nightmare.

All the nerfs it has caused. Being forced to play it for quests/ titles. It's the most elitist and toxic part of the community. It should be completely separated from PvE.

Playing around all the one-hit-kill weapons is not fun. You're shoehorned into playing Hunter if you want the best neutral game. The meta is stale for many. There's no dedicated servers or map voting. Not much loot to look forward to because Saladin/Shaxx weapons haven't been updated that much. Etc.

4 RespuestasI hate PVP because to make some fun situations you have to build up some specific reflexes and only way to do that is to play PVP a lot. But I don’t want to play PVP a lot because it isn’t fun for me. I am constantly dying in less than a second and facing respawn cooldown. This is boring af tbh. You cant even react and fo something, there is no gameplay element, only reflexes on this level. Yes I can be in top 500 player if I want to play PVP 10 hours a day and maybe it will even be fun, but I have many more things to do instead.

Maybe they should separate the game completely? I love pvp way more than PvP and would love it if they focused their attention on PvP and made it more fun better maps and fixed the bugs and lag.

On console it's not bad but that's because I'm very good with a controller. But on pc I'm very new to m&k >15 hours of m&k. I got to classic mix it's just 11 unbroken sweats who always hit 3 crits with spare rations. Then the "sbmm" control where I face multiple unbrokens that do the same but extremely more lag. Like if I play 10 games in "sbmm" control 1 game I'll actually play against 1kd which is my friends accounts kd....
