Putting the effort into creating that incentive knowing the activity and leveling up the gear is repetitive that doesn't really give an incentive?
I've seen a hell of a lot of excuses people have been making up all over this forum about the event knowing Bungie had an entire year to come up with plenty of options to offer that incentive. (Look at past events like the Haunted Forest that offered a new legendary weapon, a new exotic and a catalyst among other things besides the event engrams that offered more loot without having to use Bright dust or buy silver.)
Correct me if I'm wrong because I have no problem with that and will stand corrected if I am. This is what Barrett said after y1 Dawning was over.
https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/46567
Eververse
We recognize that the scales are tipped too far towards Tess at the moment, and Eververse was never intended to be a substitute for end game content and rewards. So, we’ll be making three changes for upcoming Seasons:
We’re shifting the balance of new content in favor of activity rewards over Bright Engrams. This includes adding Ghosts, Sparrows, and ships (to date found only in Bright Engrams) to achievement reward pools.
We'll provide a gameplay path to earn Bright Engrams and all contained rewards (including Event Engrams).
We’ll give players more direct purchase options and make adjustments to Bright Engrams to allow players to get the items they want more often.
Now, they did do this, they offered a path after the event but, no one really had any interest because once the event was over it went back to the old duplicates that Tess was handing out like candy. Sure, they fixed it, but that was after the fact of them being silent the entire time riding the event out. So knowing the quote above and what has taken place with Solstice. If I'm correct, isn't Barrett basically saying "we've learned from our mistake and we will do better from here on out"?
So Bungie, you are blocking upvotes on this post, I have a few people saying they can't upvote it, and when I get upvotes a lot of them don't show, Why??? It's funny how no one else on this entire forum has this problem at all. What are you afraid of Bungie? and again removing my hashtag so it won't trend on a 3rd post that I had to put them back 5 times, nice...
https://www.bungie.net/7/en/Legal/CodeOfConduct
Where are the mods that are supposed to remove the vulgar remarks?
Edit: 1. Just saying, nothing more. Just because some of you can upvote the post doesn't mean some people are not blocked from upvoting others. I know this for a fact because I'm blocked from upvoting and downvoting certain people.
Also, nice to see Bungie you have it blocked from being seen on the rewards forum and feedback even though the tags are there 👍
Edit: 2. They're still removing the tags 😂 8 times now I had to put them back on this post. Says a lot there Bungie... Updated 9 times now and counting.
Edit: Thank you, everyone, that showed there are people on this forum that know how to give feedback in spite of how the forum is 👍

13 RespuestasThe random 25 patrols at the end of it all made me realize how little they care about quest objectives in this game. This is how I imagine quest design goes at bungo: *luke smith spins a wheel with activities on it* “Alright, patrols. Hey deej, choose a number from 1-100.” “Uh...25?” “Cool, 25 patrols. OK everyone, let’s call it a day.”

1 RespuestaThe best thing Bungie could do is ban everyone who spite and hate on this game, ppl who TRASH TALK the work of the developers Not just forum ban, but game ban also, no one force anyone to play. Your post history is riddled with hate and vitriol aimed at : The developers The players who have a positive approach towards the game Why are you still here, other than stir hate, make I flamatory BAIT posts and create toxicity? Go play Anthem if you wanna see what a bad game looks like Odin, I am pretty sure your posting days will come to an end and ppl who LIKE THE GAME for what it is will finally be able to come on forums without the danger of being bullied attacked and trash talked by the likes of you

Luke Smith said he is writing a 4000 word reply. He is going to explain everything guys. And make it all better by trying convince us why his design choices didn't really workout as well as he planned. This is going to be good.

4 RespuestasAgree, as a collector with the removal of event drops and even current season loot from Tess, I have zero reason to do full sets on all 3 toons. This is not a statement I would normally make but not getting the goofy shit Tess has has taken away any reward from the “grind”. I have the Triumphs done now what? Normally I’d grind out the other two sets for my collections of not only armor but ghosts and sparrows and shaders......and BRIGHT DUST! For me the reward from these activities was not the armor alone necessarily but also watching my collections tabs fill up.

8 RespuestasThis event was absolutely terrible. and i say that as someone that finished it. I hated the EAZ - i kept getting stuck in rooms with hard to find exits, cramped areas, zero teamwork, everyone out for themselves, trying to get one bullet in before your teammates melted the mini bosses, the whole 100 mini boss thing, everyone departing after the mini bosses, it was terrible. hated every minute of it. bungie's lucky i have OCD i guess and felt like i had to have that stupid glow armor or be left out.

11 Respuestaswhat exactly do you want dude? log into teh game, do a mundane task and get the best gear ??? is that how you like to play games? if you dont have times for gaming that doesnt mean that the game should be garbage to fit your time, period i am getting tired of these casuals crying about grind and wanting to get the best items just by simply loging in

1 RespuestaIt’s really just filler content

4 RespuestasWonder why there isnt a response to this post yet. 🤔

2 RespuestasIf the reward would be Not Forgotten instead of this dumb sparrow everybody would grind it on 3 characters.

1 RespuestaHard for this game to be an MMO when they havent added any content or vendors except for Eververse and a few horde mode arenas for 8 months. Damn Eververse is the only thing in the game anymore Bungie. You guys should go ahead and get rid of the Cryptarch, too. SHAAMME.

3 RespuestasVery well said. You always be posting facts. 👍

1 RespuestaEditado por Xero: 8/8/2019 11:28:44 PMEh...I'm on the fence...again... And I got nothing. I'm not sure what to say. There are times where I go "Aww yeah!" and then there are times I go "Oh no..." The rest of the group said "-blam!- it" and left the fence altogether. I still think realistically, and try to be reasonable with figuring out how things go, but you get moments where you go "Wait a minute....I'm not playing this anymore" and then you're just gone for a while, for your own reasons. I still think things can be much better, but I don't know whether to look at time management, resources/manpower available, Bungie's vision vs Our vision, etc... So again...ehhh...*shrugs*

27 RespuestasBungie, I'd like to see the effort that was put into past events that offered that incentive to run the activity. You did it with Haunted Forest, so I can't see why you wouldn't be able to do this with future events.

I don't know about the others, I got me the armor and after that I i had no spirit left in me to do anything else. Got me glowing Warlock into the Crucible where we lead by 60 points, all of a sudden our team gets one shot killed by hand cannons and whatnot. It just reminded me how broken Crucible can be sometimes, even when the one shot experience was new to me, I realized that I was willing to forgive the bugs and scripted gameplay last week, since they put my through the most boring and intense grind ever I have lost my spirit for this game entirely. Sure I will be back for Shadowkeep but if things continue to be so trivial and stupid I will curse them, I am a Warlock i can do spells ;)

12 RespuestasEditado por TheShadow-cali: 8/9/2019 3:49:19 PMSpeaking of Bungie going silent again, as usual, no word on any post on this entire forum about this event. Not surprised... Edit: Thank you Bungie for the mute option. I wonder why some still make a reply to me knowing I muted them. I can't see what they said, but I can see someone made a reply by the number that indicates replies. Edit: 2 of them now. So whoever these people are that made a reply to this thread that are trying to harass me? I muted both of you for a good reason.

12 RespuestasEditado por DarkOverlord_9: 8/8/2019 2:04:05 AMI have a friend who plays casually. I told them to buy the glows for 1 class, thinking they’d cost 5,000 bright dust, but it turns out, the 5k is just for 1 glow type (solar, arc or void). Considering no one really exclusively plays 1 subclass, this is a pretty scummy decision as it basically forces you to spend 15,000 bright dust whether or not you play 3 characters, and that’s a lot of paywalled currency for a paid game with many paid DLCs. These incompetent scam artists always make us pay for what should be earned in game. Speaking of which, why is NOTHING added to this event aside from 1 armor set (from year 1) earnable in-game? Am I the only one who sees this as year 1 dawning all over again, the event that completely destroyed goodwill towards Bungie and cost them 14 million customers, as everything was paywalled in eververse (just like now)? I realise that most of the few remaining players are hopeless Bungie fanboys and/or ignorant newcomers, but damn, have a brain people. They are stealing right from under your nose, and I promise you, it will only get worse from here. With that said, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if they implement more of their shady tactics in the forums, shadowbanning critics like you left and right. Scumbags always deal in scummy ways.

3 RespuestasMake it fun. All they needed to do is have certain modifiers available when wearing full gear just like gambit prime but only active during solstice. Or even had unique modifiers on set days. Like Laser tag - trace rifles do double damage during this time. Speed runner - Sprint speed is enhanced. Bobble heads - All enemies head size increased. Small arms - kinetic damage is doubled. No gravity - jumping duration is increased. Etc.

2 RespuestasI’ve been slowly grinding armor away and looked back and I asked myself “Why am I doing this? I’m not even having fun, I feel bored and just already burnt out with just maybe two and half hours in.” I really wanted to like this event but the pathway to upgrading armor feels to long, to grindy event with just 2 hours invested. There are so many better ways they could have done armor upgrade system to make it fun and less of a task. Yes grind is good but constant repetitive grind isn’t and it’s just not fun. Other people say “you have 3 weeks to do it just take it slow.” Well what about people who can’t play but maybe 2-3 hours a week? I’ve got a friend who works 6-7 days a week and maybe has 2-3 hours to play for maybe 1-2 days a week and he’ll never get the armor even if he tried cause his schedule. That alone says a lot, should take at most 4-5 hours to get a full set with breaks maybe 2-3 days

Y'all should play different games instead of giving into your addiction.

2 RespuestasI personally love this event. EAZ is better than redux missions any day! The mazes in the buildings are fun and the vertical aspect is a great change of pace. The rewards are in line with the journey (except that annoying 100 mini boss step). The tess engrams dropping Y1 stuff are good and bad: we get more bright dust and maybe something we missed out on, but there really isn’t anything new to chase and some of the most fun looking items are locked behind silver. The rewards are fine, man, and it’s a better overall system than last year. This game supports a big group of devs working on new content, a sequel and a new game. Anything I spend on silver is going toward a franchise I enjoy and hope to get more out of. And we all know the REAL reward is the friends we make along the way! /s

10 RespuestasThats absolutely not how game development works. If you really think that they work on an event a whole year out when they have better things to work on for more recent releases you must be out of your mind. That's the worst thing they could possibly do. Solstice was worked on for maybe 2 months, if that. This isn't me defending Bungie for their terrible job at this event either, this is just common sense. Anybody thinking they worked on this event for a year has no idea how game development works. Let me put it into more realistic terms since I know everybody here is autistic and doesn't understand. You work as a cook for a restaurant. You have 10 tickets up. Tickets 1 through 10. Do you as a cook focus only your efforts on doing ticket 1, then have another do ticket 2, another do ticket 3, etc etc? No. That's not how cooking works. You have everybody do their parts to focus on one ticket, send it out, move onto the next one. Live game development is the same way. If Black Armory and the Forges were the first few tickets, they have everybody focusing down from ticket 1 to ticket 3 until everything in that season is ready. Then they move down the line of "tickets" in order to make sure everything is done properly and in the right order. Because what happens if you put a bunch of people on planning an event that happens at the end of the year but you dont even have things that are supposed to be ready 4 months prior ready yet? If you're gonna complain about something, at least make it somewhat intelligent.

Tldr; I suffer from extreme butthurt and crave attention on a video game forum.
