D1 vet here-
I sympathize with those who started with D2 (D2 has been garbage since launch. Whisper Quest was the beginning of the light at the end of the tunnel)
Exotic drop rates in D2 up to this point have been ridiculous....balanced by being terrible for the most part.
Does Forsaken need adjustments? Sure, Some players have terrible RNG. However now when you see that gold engram drop off that random encounter you will hopefully get that little ‘rush’ of “oh shit!-Exotic!”! as your run over to pick it up.
This is one of the things many of us missed. And so long as the loot is crazy kickass like Icebreaker/Ghorn days it betters the game experience IMO.
Destiny partly a grind/slot machine game. If you don’t have the time to put in for your “expected” returns maybe this game is not for you?

D1 Vet here too. Been a member on these forums since before D1 launched. D1 had ways to mitigate crappy RNG. Places like nightfall increased exponentially your chances of getting an exotic drop, Xur was exciting from his first appearance, PoE your first run through always gave you an exotic... some people would delete and re-roll characters to get to 25 or 26 and do PoE but I digress. Even still RNG was a bit to harsh so come TTK which arguably was the best expansion in D1 we got 3oC which gave players an even better at some gold balls.

I agree with everything you said. Nightfall’s were almost guaranteed exotic drops. It is unfortunate that Xur is a “write off” for now as I was looking forward Xurs arrival. Haven’t cared since D1 about Xur.. until now.
