Daaaamn Sierra, back at it again with generalising an entire political ideology. Besides, there are people on the right who politicise tragedies as well.

9 RespuestasEditado por OldboyVicious: 11/6/2017 8:10:06 PMWhy dont they ever politicize it for better mental health services? And I don't mean to be attacking anyone, or saying only liberals do that. I'm just wondering why a shooting prompts a gun debate as opposed to a "what can we do to stop people from going insane" debate.

This has to be the most biased bullshit I’ve ever seen you post. Have you even looked at the news recently? Don’t pretend that only the left does this. Christ almighty.

16 RespuestasThink of it this way. We've tried everything except for taking away people's guns. There's only one option left. Why can't we try it out? See how it goes. If it fails, good, then we'll unban guns. But, if it helps, good, then keep them banned. We are out of options and the government is doing nothing. There is only one option left. The Australia method.

16 RespuestasEditado por Bieltan: 11/6/2017 11:51:00 AMThe topic that comes to my mind is "How readily should the mentally ill/potentially mentally ill have access to firearms?" The dude was discharged from the Navy via court marshall for assaulting his wife and child. There was clearly an issue there, who in their right mind assaults their own child? This falls under the umbrella of gun control. Sure, thanks to the black market you can never truly cut anyone off entirely from getting what they want, but you can make it significantly tougher. Would this have been prevented? Maybe, maybe not. He may not have been able to lay hands on a weapon with as much lethality as what he had, thus allowing more chance for people to escape or even overpower him. Then again, thanks to the proliferation of firearms in the US maybe he could have. However, I dont see how anyone could rightly argue that the possibility couldnt have been lowered. Time and again someone of questionable mental stability has had ready access to guns with high killing potential and gone postal with one, resulting in a tonne of deaths. At some point, there has to be proper discussion. I would have thought the mass murder of children years ago would have been enough to prompt it tbh.

11 RespuestasWhen would you think is a good time to talk about it? What is wrong with gun control? Gun control =/= Gun ban

We can’t even enforce the gun laws that already exist.

Can't we replace all guns with hugs?

1 RespuestaHurricanes hit the US “It’s insensitive to talk about global warming because people are affected by storms” Mass Shooting “It’s insensitive to talk about gun control because people died....” Isis follower truck attack “WE SHOULD BAN ALL REFUGEE FROM ENTERING THE US” Honestly stfu about this bs “politicizing” a tragedy. Pick one or the other. Now is the perfect time to talk about ways to prevent this stuff from happening again.

1 RespuestaEditado por logan678910 65: 11/6/2017 10:40:50 PMThey can't even say that because this guy has a dishonorable discharge and wasn't allowed to buy guns. In fact, the gun he got was acquired illegaly. And a guy with a gun scared him off before he could kill anyone else.

I tend to avoid gun control debate because I honestly don't have much knowledge around guns in general. It took me talking to a buddy that has quite a few guns recently to get some of the basic concepts down even. With that being said, the one thing that annoys me about the debate/conversation is the ridiculous amount of ignorance and misinformation. That and most don't want to have a conversation or even a debate about options, they just want to argue, fight and attack anyone that disagrees.

3 RespuestasI find this argument stupid, if it's liberals saying this when someone brown does this or when it's a white guy and the right does it. Like the gun debate was already happening, do you expect it to stop every time something like this happens when people actually pay attention? Campaigning for bureaucracy is stupid

1 RespuestaSurely a shooting of this nature couldn't have happened in Texas. There are too many good guys with guns.

We should all just hold hands and pray to god and hope this never happens again.

4 RespuestasPoliticizing it better than the alternative of them just being dicks.

2 RespuestasIf you accept four people being shot in about the same time and place as a fair definition of a "mass shooting", then this is the 307th mass shooting in the US so far this year. It's never NOT right after a mass shooting here. When do you expect the discussion to take place?

8 RespuestasEditado por Coastal Elite: 11/6/2017 1:47:50 AM"Don't politicize [x]" is one of the Top 10 Dumbest Anime Arguments Of All Time. Politics is how we solve problems. And there's plenty of room for debate on what is a problem and what it's solution should be, whether its banning Muslims or banning guns. But it's impossible for me not to read "don't politicize" as "don't solve problems".

When tragedy occurs on your doorstep and you are incapable of preventing the outcome through fear or panic then maybe you will accept to discuss a better way forward. Until this happens you are a hopeless case.
