The cabal with all their military knowledge...
... Really are quite stupid. Let's discuss why.
1. They have the motivation and drive to crash their ship. As proven in case of the dreadnought. (It's still waiting for its bandage, or did oryx proclaim (get good)?
2. Evidence supports they can reach our planet because in SRL, they are shown on mercury.
3. Our ONE outpost is on the planet earth and you CANNOT MISS IT! like literally there is a flouting becon saying HERE HERE! IS OUR LAST CITY!.
4. All they have to do is set the same size ship, on a auto flight to our planet, advance of the ship to their Base or other ships in the sector and watch the fireworks. (They have no words for retreat.)
Simple.

I find the Cabal quite humorous, even comical at times, especially for a supposedly powerful military empire capable of intergalactic space travel. ;) Essentially I see them as over-sized Buzz Lightyears - with a bad temper. :) That said, if I understand correctly are you saying the Cabal could (perhaps should), at least in theory, send a ship on auto-pilot crashing into the Tower? If so, it's certainly plausible (in theory), except the Tower may have orbital defenses or simply anti-aircraft artillery so to speak. Not to mention the Guardians and our ships. Then again one would think Oryx would've had something similar. Yet the Cabal managed to crash it there in order to establish a "beachhead".
