One of the most prevalent claims about Bernie on this site is that his supporters are "entitled" or "lazy" or that "they just want rich people's money."
All of these claims are false and every one of those claims glosses over the real rational and reasoning behind what Bernie says and his supports.
Bernie's platform isn't "everybody gets a free car and a brand new Xbox." When Bernie talks about reforming the education system and having the government pay for the cost he's not saying every person that applies to college gets a free ride. Everybody that makes the grades gets a free ride. If you cannot make the grades you're out of school.
Just like it works now but the difference is that instead of having a bunch of college drop outs with tons of college debt that benefits nobody and a bunch of qualified people unable to afford the cost of going we have full time students working hard on their eduction. We get students that graduate without debt and that are prepared to get a high quality job.
As a society we should be investing in those who have the skills and brainpower to go to school. They shouldn't have to worry about paying the bill of they make the cut.
Moving into to health care what's wrong with the current health care system you ask? Well, for one it's a really expensive system. For starters, before Obama care came along there were millions of uninsured people in this country. Now, obviously some of those people might get sick and might need treatment. For example, somebody uninsured has a heart attack. They're rushed to the hospital and oh, the bill is $100,000+!!!
Well, this person having a shitty dead end job doesn't have that kind of money and recovering from a heart attack keeps them from working. They cannot pay and the hospital is basically just shit out of luck.
So who do they charge to make up for the cost? Well the people who can pay. They bump up the cost of everything for the insurance companies. Thus, the insurance companies have to change more for insurance, the hospitals have to make everything more expensive and the uninsured are shit out of luck and crushed for getting sick.
The entire point of having a national health care system like it or not is that everybody is paying into the system and everybody is covered. If you have a heart attack the hospital simply bills the government and the government the and hospital discuss the price. Nobody is uninsured and raising the cost.
In fact, everybody would pay less for insurance if we adopted the "free health care plan." Yes, one might say, "but I'm paying for somebody else." Sure you are, but you're also paying with the understanding that if you get cancer you will get treatment. You will not need to sell your house.
Who does Bernie Sanders care about? Does Benrie Sanders care about his friends on Wall Street, his friends in large companies, and his cronies, or does Bernie care about the middle class? The reality is that for decades the middle class has been getting less and less while the upper elite grow richer and richer to the point where a hand full of people own the majority of wealth in this country.
Be smart. Don't vote for the candidate that is being paid millions of dollars by companies to rig the system in their favor. Vote for the guy that cares about you and this country. Vote for Bernie Sanders

112 RespuestasEditado por Ghost4201990: 3/16/2016 3:32:44 AMBerne Sanders is a marxist who doesn't give 2 shits about the Constitution. His ideology is flawed in many ways and although it's honorable to be against crony capitalism, his policies are way worse. Let's start with health care. We have the greatest healthcare in the world. The reason is compitition in the private sector lowers costs and increases quality and speed. It's only because of beurocrats in the government, heavily regulating it and Obama care that's driving up both insurence costs and hospitals costs. Yes the fact that it's law that they have to treat you is a part of that but that's mainly because illegals take advantage of emergency rooms, among other lower class people. Universal health care will create huge waiting lists and poor quality health care much like the VA and Europe. Because when government funds things it creates more beurocracy and no compitition so costs go up and and quality doctors will move else where to get payed for their skills. You won't have a relationship with your doctor anymore it will be a relationship between your doctor and the government. Health care costs are unpredictable so government would go bankrupt trying to fund it. Point is keep it in the private sector where it belongs Now education. Grades don't matter as much as you stated. For a university maybe but for a community college anyone who graduated can go. What will happen like what's already happening is with more people with the same degrees the degrees are worth less. Example is my wife, she has an associate degree in business but can't get a job with it when just 10 years ago you could. 2 year degrees would turn to 4, and 4 to 6, the bigger the career the longer the schooling to compete with the flooded market so instead of individuals created huge debt because of poor choices, the whole country will have that debt. Government involvment is why education costs as much as it does and poor choices by students like taking woman's studies is why people aren't getting jobs from it. Now minimum wage. Honestly I've talked about this one too often. Raise the wages unemployment will rise, prices will rise, and massive inflation will be the end result. His tax plans will destroy the middle class. You build the middle class by lowering taxes on both the rich and the middle class. The rich and the middle class are the job makers. You lower their costs then they have the ability to grow and succeed. The poor have a chance to grow and become middle class, and the middle class becomes richer in the process. Now of course not all succeed but that would be a fantasy, for some to succeed, others need to fail but in a free market everyone has the opportunity if they work hard and smart. #Cruz2016 Edit: when berne says health care and education is a right, what he's really saying is you're too stupid to work your ass off and get it yourself. What he's saying is hey rich guy, you're too rich I'm going to steal it from you and give it to this idiot.

1 RespuestaJust a friendly reminder to everyone. Before political parties, you are a human being first and foremost. All this Democrat and Republican hatred is detrimental to human society, and is a big reason why segregation still exists. Before you judge that Democrat or Republican next to you, remember that you are both human. And fighting and generalizing each other over such arbitrary shit like political parties and political views will not help humanity as a whole. Food for thought. Love each other.

2 RespuestasBernie's proposed tax plan would tax my parents (A Firefighter and a Nurse) for half there income There is something very wrong with taking half the income of two public servants so it can be spent on the low class so they can afford to waste their money on drugs booze and tobacco As for the whole minimum wage topic someone who flips burgers for a living should not make the same hourly rate that an EMT or solider makes I've worked for minimum wage for a year and a half and don't get me wrong it sucks and I wish I could have made more money but my job did not require me to risk my life on a daily basis
-
Vote for the guy that is self-funding his campaign, taking his hard earned money out of his own pocket and giving up his amazing life to run for president! Trump is sacrificing a life of opulence and enjoyment to run for president, he is doing this because he feels the country is going downhill (it is, $19 trillion in debt is not the sign of an economic powerhouse). Trump is subjecting himself to unheard of levels of media scrutiny and putting everything on the line in order to help the country. Sanders is a lifelong bum that has never held a real job, his 1st "job" was signing people up for food stamps. He is a lowbrow ne'er-do-well who has had a lifelong passion for wealth redistribution. He's been a complainer his whole life, an enemy of capitalism, and has not created anything (job, product, service, etc). His first real job was becoming mayor of Burlington, since then he has stuck to politics. He literally has no experience or knowledge of market principles, business, or economics in general. He is a BUM!!! And after Tuesday he is a guaranteed LOSER!!!

52 RespuestasEditado por The Worm Keeper: 3/16/2016 3:15:10 AMMy dad makes upwards of $500,000 a year. He is the Director of the ER at two hospitals, as well as head surgeon of pediatrics and regional hospital. He worked his ass off to get there, and he's about to be 50. He pays for my community college that I am attending out of county (not country). Why should he pay for everyone else's college too, or why should he pay more taxes to help those who don't want to help themselves? Not only that, but (on an off note), why should we as Americans care about illegal Mexicans? I live very near the border and almost everyone here is a lazy democrat. They all hate republicans because "republicans don't want to help Mexicans." But they are talking about illegal immigrants, which most of the people I know are or have close ties to. Why is it America's job to give these illegal immigrants jobs and education? Do democrats actually think we should help illegals? Looking for a reasonable response please.

1 RespuestaI would never support Bernie. Dude wants minimum wage to $15 an hour. Also he's an authoritarian. Why would Americans support that? We are 18 trillion in debt and taxing the rich won't fix that. Also he will raise taxes on the middle class. He will destroy America and continue the path of destruction that took place under Bush, and Obama. America needs term limits on politicians, we need a flat tax, and our dollar needs to be back by gold and or silver. None of which Bernie has suggested. We need to audit the Feds, get rid of the IRS, and start giving power back to the state. Let's shrink government (we know Bernie would expand big gov) it's time we stop with this nonsense. The sheeple are getting out of control.

2 RespuestasEditado por IQ Null: 3/16/2016 9:21:46 PMSo I work my ass off and go to college. Now my money goes into funding everyone else's college expenses. My dad got jack shit from his dad, who never bothered to work and instead went after women, and he managed to work hard enough throughout the first half of his life, got a good education, and now makes six figures. I doubt he'd be fine with letting his money go into everyone else's (most likely wasted) education, because a good denomination of his supporters are welfare-bought failures. Socialism cannot and will not work in the U.S. I'm so very sorry to make you feel bad and hurt your feelings.

2 RespuestasOh look an intelligent post EDUCATION: 1) The question is not whether people are going to school. It's what schools they are going to. Truly intelligent people will always have somewhere to go for little debt if any. Bernie is there for those people. He's rallying for the "lazy" people or the people who think they deserve Yale. 2) High quality jobs are competed for. Wages will inherently go down, and taxes will rise. Why? Because you'll have more educated people and because the people discussed in #1 will go to school. Those people will drive up the cost of college for the whole nation, even if they're going to college for something useless. Will read/edit in a healthcare thing.

6 RespuestasEditado por The Fallen Zyzz: 3/16/2016 2:17:59 AMIMHO Trump and Sanders are the only two sensible options since they aren't bought and owned. It's a shame that it looks like Bernie might not win the Democrat nomination. The thought that Hillary might win against Trump is sickening.
I would still prefer a Trump presidency over Bernie tho.
4 RespuestasI love in coal country and damn near everyone is voting for Trump besides college kids. I actually only know 3 and they are only voting for him because of what he wants for education. I don't disagree with them. The have solid points and reasons. Its the other Sanders supporters I've lost respect for, the ones blaring nothing but hate towards people like me voting for Trump. We aren't voting for his policies because we all know damn well he would need congressional support for them and they are so radical it's Ludacris to think they will pass. We are voting for survival. You shut down these coal mines you don't just put coal mines out. You kill the suppliers for equipment to run the mine. You hurt the barges, the trucking the trains, the power plants, and all the contractors, mechanics and suppliers for them. My company alone took 3 pay cuts and 5 downsizing in the last year. 3 other companies had to pull out because they could take anymore cuts. And after the mines that HAVE already shut down we have another 3 mines that may be going on a full fledged strike because they might be getting hit so hard by Murray falling.
tldr not all trump supporters are racist, some of us want to keep our jobs.
Or is it just easier to ignore the drastic changes needed before this plan can get started.
