Rocket use in PVP....why???
I stopped using rockets in PVP when I learned Heavy MG can get you 2...3.....4 times as many kills and you cant kill your self, yet I still see a lot of them used. Looking to see why?
Edit: I never thought of Rockets for 3 vs 3......I pretty much always play 6 vs 6, but I can see the benefits of it in 3 vs 3.
Edit 2: Looking like Rockets are just easier to use....point..shoot, run away. How about PVE? As far as the Raid goes Rockets are pretty much useless, anyone prefer them over MG or Sword in PVE?

Because rockets get kills easier. If you're not careful, even some other non heavies can out gun a MG (TLW for example). That and if you use a MG against someone with rockets, you're at a decent disadvantage. They can fire and run out of your sight while you need to maintain line of sight for a bit.

It's a trade-off. Rockets are quicker and easier kills, machine gun is capable of many more kills.

I tend to prefer rockets for wiping out the heavies on the enemy team. Right loadouts can give more than two shells. During doubles, I popped into Skirmish because a tagalong jumped onto my fireteam. Heavy dropped and my Gjallarhorn was given 4 shots.... wiped the enemy out by myself, clocked a respawned enemy going for their heavy, grabbed their heavy and wrecked them again 5 more times (one was a double kill). It was glorious and changed my opinion on the horn in PvP.

I like the truth, mainly because good luck dodging that heat seeking missile from hell

I break out the ballerhorn every once in awhile to nail people and their little friends hiding around the corner with the wolfpack rounds ;)

Lately in trials I'll bring Bolt-Caster as my heavy. It defends against the Truth (which so many use) and has that ranged attack.

Where is the difference between the first and second opinion? It's basically the same.

Even in 6v6. 1. Rockets give you a low-risk/high reward means of getting kills. At worst, you'll trade kills if you run into someone else with a rocket launcher. Whereas you'll just get shut out and shut down if you carry a MG into that fight. 2. Some people would rather get the 2-4 high probability kills....than hold out for the possibility that you MIGHT go on a prolonged killing spree with an MG. 3. Actually my longest kill streak to date was actually with Truth rather than an MG. Had a set up that gave me four rockets with each heavy drop...and by the time I'd strung a couple of heavy round and a couple of supers together...I was looking at an kill streak of 18.

MG when you have lots of space. You can lose close battles with machine guns and In IB Clash can't afford to lose easy heavy weapon kills.

I prefer to use the machine gun. I end up using rockets most often just because 10 seconds after we pull heavy I get hit form across the map by truth.

Rockets usually work unless your stupid like me. I always end up killing myself once a day when using heavy. Either a teammate jumps in front of me or I choose to shoot another players ghost

Mg for 6v6 Rocket for 3v3/2v2 Sword for rumble. Just what I feel works best for me. Or in the case of the sword...what I enjoy the most lol!

It's really effective if you have a group of friends playing skirmish or salvage. Have 1-2 guys go rockets, destroy their heavy. And the other guy gets to go on a spree with a hmg.
