Are you asking why stay at home moms should be paid? IMO it's a freaking hard job that you don't get a break from (yes I understand we choose to have kids) but for some it is a lot cheaper to stay home then to pay for daycare because if my kids went to daycare it would be almost like paying for a second house. Because of this it puts a lot of stress on the man to be able to provide all on his own. I'm not saying they should make just has much as a person with a job but it would help many

  • I guess it just bugs me that people demand companies pay them for time off just cause they have a kid. I don't personally think being a stay at home mom is difficult, but then again I don't have kids. Growing up, my mom had four of us to take care of & even worked while she was pregnant with me all the way till she delivered. She had three jobs & still came home to cook and clean, so because of that I don't believe it's difficult. Of course each person is different and I'm not really trying to argue if it's hard or not. Yes I know daycare is expensive, but it still goes back to the fact that couples should be able to take care of the baby financially. Everyone knows that having kids isn't cheap, it's a privilege not a right that everyone should have. I just want to know why the company is responsible for paying someone to have time off for having a baby. I'd understand this point for a single parent, but not for a couple that has 2 sources of income. Why not plan ahead and save money for the months of work that you know you'll miss? Idk, I guess i don't really understand it but I want to

  • Taking care of 4 kids is not easy, your mom just probably made it look easy because she knew what she was doing.

  • Are you f*cking kidding me? Lol, I bet your Mom thought that was easy, go ask her I'm sure she'd be glad to know that you took her for granted. I'm sure she wanted to do it for you, but to say that it was easy is just plain ignorant.

I talk to my mom a lot about it and she had no complaints, of course it may not have been fun. She did what she had to in order to take care of her children, she didn't make someone else pay for the choices she made. I'm sorry, but I don't agree with paid maternity leave & I thinks it's just a bunch of people that think they entitled

  • No I don't think companies should pay while on maternity leave I agree they should plan and save... As for being prepared (which when you have kids you'll see) you can never be fully prepared , yes some people should never reproduce by why make the kid suffer cause you can't provide? I'm sure if you ask your mom that was probably the hardest time (or still is if she is still doing it) of her life and never let you see anything but strength

  • Of course, things don't usually go the way you plan them. That goes for any big step in life (i.e. buying a house, getting married, ect,) but it's still better to try to save then not. Exactly, why make the kid suffer, like I started before, if you can provide for your child financially then don't have one. It's a privilege to have a kid, not a right & you're bringing that child into suffering because of your selfishness (you're mean the person, not you.) Lol no, I talk to my mom a lot & that was no where near the worst part of her life. She's gone thru hell, but working the way she had to for us was simple. Unlike a lot of people nowadays, she didn't mind working, she's always been a hard working woman and that's what she like. She doesn't like sitting around, she always had to be working or doing something

  • Just to clarify being a stay at home does not mean you are just sitting around (yes you have opportunities and you can do whatever you want) but raising a well rounded respectable child/children takes every min of the day and then you cook clean and maintain stability , I do realize some stay at homes do just sit around but not all

  • Not at all what I meant, I meant that she can stay home and not work, but she prefers working. I have nothing against stay at home mom's, I'm only questioning the paid maternity leave

Just how you put it sounds like stay at homes sit around, but I am the same I have to constantly be doing something even if its small but I am a stay at home cause I can't imagine missing each milestone of my kids they grow so fast and learn something everyday I like knowing I taught them that And I dont agree with paid maternity leave either makes no sense if you are already providing healthcare and giving them opportunity to be at home

  • I'm really bad at writing and get my thoughts into words lol. I really didn't mean it like that though, I completely understand why people stay home to take care of their kids. Is it weird watching then get older? I ask all the patents I know that question cause I feel like its be so weird. Seeing them so tiny and then they get old
