Fairly certain there will be another raid. Bungie can't be that stupid to go a year between raids.

  • WoW does it. I think they went 11 months without one. Sure WoW has much more content. But people still left over it. And came back for the next expansion. Same here. People who like Destiny will continue to play. Wether that's every day. Or once a week. Then when the full sequel is out. Lots will come back.

  • The issue with a WoW comparison is that to beat that raid it took MONTHS of progression for 90% of guilds. It wasn't cleared in 1 day, heroic also wasn't cleared in 1 day. WoW, Rift etc raids take months, sometimes months on a single boss, in order to progress. Destiny is carebear raiding compared to that. That is why a year between raids will destroy end game. I dont mind 6 months to clear a raid for the first time (a month to beat each boss), but I don't want to kill all bosses in a day and then not have anything new for 11 months. People, like me, will just move on if given a reason.

  • Wow goes long periods of time without serious today's. That's because their content overall is satisfying to the majority of the playerbase. Destiny doesn't do that.

  • Yeah. Players like the content overall. But no new content for that long is still bad. Along with some bad decisions. Which is why WoW now has 5.5 Million Subs. Down from 10.5 Million in less than a year. Their lowest subs since 2005.

  • I'm keenly aware of that. They're doing badly after 10 plus years. Bungie barely had their shit together fit a year of their 10 year plan.

  • Good point but I sort of consider POE a raid...a shitty 3 man raid void of all innovation and effort but a 'raid' in the Destiny sense...especially Skolas. We still have not received a raid in the traditional mmo sense (true, v1 hard core difficulty) like peak WoW or Rift level raids. The problem is that without trinity raid mechanics are automatically dumbed down. That is how Bungie wants it, though since they cater to carebears.

  • 9 months? When was this? Destiny vanilla- September 2014 Dark below- November 2014 House of wolves- April 2015 Taken king- September 2015 People had mixed feelings about the prison of elders, but it was essentially the HoW raid (as it was the main PvE endgame material for that release).

  • POE was not a raid...Not by a long shot. Three man fireteam and modifiers...More like segmented nightfall.

  • Though it truly wasn't a raid (or even a segmented nightfall), it still was the PvE endgame content for house of wolves. The person I first responded to made it seem like no endgame content came for 9 months. P.S. my personal opinion: I feel it PoE is basically just an objective type multiplayer against AI.

  • Fair enough opinion. I see what you're saying. Just didn't like being reminded that POE was presented as a raid replacement/alternative. For me "The Raid" is the primary motivator for playing Destiny. All activities I pursue are in preparation for the raid. So much fun working together as a team to overcome the challenge!

  • I have only done kings fall once so far, but I plan on doing it again with my brother this time (as I have been helping him bring his characters up after his 8 month hiatus from the game). My first run was simply thrilling even when it took 6 hours to complete with my team of 4 first timers and 2 regular raid runners. We died so many times at the wall launcher region (mostly on purpose...or due to pranks), but it was just plain fun through and through. (RNG loot not included in that comment though).
