Not when the expansion basically gives you more new stuff to do than was in the original game. Having now played TTK, I'd have still considered this to be a good deal at $60. The only thing that keeps Bungie from basically calling this "Destiny 2" is the fact that it only adds one new patrol area compared to the 4 that came with the Vanilla game.
-
Its just a dlc..a add-on..
-
Its an expansion. As much a legitimate expansion of Destiny as Reaper of Souls is for Diablo 3. Though TTK is MUCH bigger relative to Destiny than ROS is to D3.
-
-
Expansion. I've been a RPG/action RPG gamer for going on 20 years. While TDB and HoWs were NOT worthy of being called expansions... The Taken King is....and then some. It has more things to do than the base game of Destiny...and we are still discovering new things hidden in the game on a daily basis.
-
Just a dlc.

Editado por TheArtist: 9/25/2015 6:52:12 PMThis isn't Wonderland, Alice. Simply repeating that over and over again, like a magic spell, isn't going to make it true. I've played LOTS of games that have undergone expansions over the years. TTK brings enough to the table to easily justifiy being called one.
-
Is it downloadable content? Then its just a dlc.
-
I downloaded all of Forza 6 on my XB1. So I guess that entire game is just "DLC" too. Same with Elder Scrolls. Dragonage. ..and about a dozen other games that I purchased as digital downloads.
-
But ttk is not a full NEW game its just a dlc lol
-
no it is not no no no no wrong 400 is a lot of money
-
Lol once more thay got away with a $40next its $60....over priced dlc is real
-
It's not just a dlc. It's a complete overhaul expansion.
-
Not really. They just added quests....

There are 17 individual story mission nodes that are repeatable (with ~8 or so being the first and main act of The Taken King which may initially be smaller than the base game the quality compared to vanilla is critically substantial! Easily the best Strikes we've seen thus far and a Raid so massive that just getting to and killing the Warpriest (first boss) is like completing the entirety of CE. I've seen one critic give TTKing below a 8.0 (it's not uncommon to find 9.0 and higher either), and price is a part of any reviewers rating. Infact: http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2015/09/16/destinys-the-taken-king-is-not-worth-40-its-worth-60/
-
Getting to the war priest is its own raid? Fanboy. Obvious Fanboy. The raid is good but not incredible. The templar was a better boss than the war priest or golgoroth.
-
So you like little to no mechanics in a boss fight because in Kings Fall we finally see a good set of boss mechanics, Templar had like 2
-
Templar had 3 mechanics. I like more mechanics, rather, multiple per boss. But sure put words in my mouth like every other ignorant kid does on here!

Editado por Un1337ninj4: 9/25/2015 4:12:01 PMGetting to and killing the Warpriest is all of CE in the sense that CE was lackluster to the point that this first leg of a good raid is comparable. Seriously, just replace the Bridge with getting the Warpriest's approval, Thrallway for the initial sequence, and use the Abyss as a smaller scale Tombship crossway. All take about the same amount of time as the entirety of CE. VoG wasn't even mentioned, obviously. though King's Fall in my opinion is either on-par in a critical sense or better in my own preference.
-
I hated Crotas end. I thought it was disappointing. It was easy, linear and too dumbed down. Vog was excellent.
-
As is reflected in my previous statement, your point?
-
That crotas end was 50%. It doesn't make crotas end anywhere even near 90%, so if crotas end was a fraction of the standard set by King's fall, id still say it's on par with vog, meaning they met their old standard. I don't think they went above and beyond to create the best raid ever. There is always room for improvement. Anyone who says this dlc was perfect is a tool.
-
I never said it was, but for the 40 USD price point I and critics by a troves seem to agree in strides that with TTKing Destiny has made some serious steps forward and it's looking good on the franchise.
-
Took away things to. Its a dlc not a new game thats the %100 truth
-
True, but this is much larger than DLC, this is a major Expansion of a much greater scale than the minor variants you've experienced. All that content is still there and the rewards from VoG are functional for well over half the game's daily content. Even then, once you start playing around with the new stuff you'll remember the old fondly but realize the new stuff is on-par to the old at least. Major Expansion, still kinda DLC but taking it up a notch. A la PC. Console could always use a little more PC.
