I feel like a punishment should be implemented for leaving crucible matches... Maybe add a 30 minute debuff that make you ineligible to queue for pvp? That way it would deter people from quitting a losing game...
Because the game knows when you got an error code they could make it recognize this and not give the debuff.
Feedback?
Edit: this could go for PvE too, strike playlists could give a PvE debuff that is the same as the other but for PvE only... Now if your team has wiped 5+ times this debuff should not trigger, as it would suck to be stuck in a strike with a team that physically can't do the strike.
Edit 2: I don't think people understand that this isn't like a permanent thing... You would just not be able to pvp for 30 minutes... That's it... 30 minutes... So it's not really a punishment if you have to leave for a "party, wedding or funeral"... It's more a punishment for people who want to leave and requeue right away
Edit 3: if anyone reads edits... I admit to leaving games that were laggy, horribly unbalanced, and even just because I got tired of one sniper... Do I think I deserved to be punished? Yes... Why should I be able to just leave and requeue as I please?
Edit 4: thank you for the feedback and if a bungie employee reads this I hope they can give feedback as well, it would be nice to know if this topic has ever been brought up.

1 RespuestaPeople sort of get punished anyway because they miss out on rewards. Leavers tend to get replaced pretty quickly from my experience, so it doesn't personally cause me much problems.

5 RespuestasWhen it puts you in the middle of a losing match that's almost done why stay?
-
There are always situations that you need to take care of at that moment. I think you should be allowed to quit one or two games with out any penalty. If you quit three games with in 15 mins your not playing and should sit out for 15 mins. This shouldn't apply to power outages, your kid turning off your xbox, etc. The server can see those error codes. I am talking ACTIVELY quitting repeated games. Everyone gets tossed into a lopsided game. My K/D sucks because I try out new weapons during those times. I can't change 18500 vs 5000 game in less than two minutes. So.. why not try that new fusion rifle?
-
1 RespuestaNo. Instead, how about Bungie invest some of the massive profits they made off of us to setup dedicated servers?
-
Yes, punishment in the entertainment industry. That's exactly what needs to happen. IMO when fixing an issue one should not aim to see how one can ruin someone else's experience. The goal should be to rebalance the experience after a negative factor is introduced.

2 RespuestasWhen you fix the lag and cheating, I'll stop quitting matches.
-
I've joined a match before that 6 vs 2 at the first heavy drop. Almost 8k down. All zones were controlled by the other team. They were glitching all over the place. These two guys I joined were fighting their ass off and getting whipped pretty bad. I join ,then another and then the rest of the team fills in. We then proceed to kick the crap out of these obvious cheaters( I'm willing to bet this is why there were only two left). I by no means am the best pvp player in the world. Not even close. And neither were the other guys that joined. The point is we stuck together as a team and beat these cheaters. Since that match I haven't left another match that I've joined already in progress. Just think of it as challenging yourself. Stop leaving matches unless you absolutely have to. Don't start matches that you know you don't have time to finish. That will make most of this problem go away.
-
No way. If I get into a lobby with lag switchers or guardians that don't take any damage, I'm out (after reporting them). There is no point in staying in a match with people that cheat to win.

3 RespuestasEditado por Cluub Breezu: 8/31/2015 1:07:33 PMSo let's theorize for a minute. There is a 30 minute penalty for leaving. Everyone knows this. So why wouldn't I just afk 5 more minutes of a match just so I don't get the penalty? So now not only is the team down a player but the game can't replace you. I don't think this penalty would have the results you are looking for.

2 RespuestasI leave all matches in just thrown into

4 RespuestasGo back to COD you pleb.

3 RespuestasWhy should I play against lag switchers and hackers? It's no fun going around and what ever you do, the enemy never dies, while a tap on the shoulder kills you at full health.
-
13 RespuestasThat's so dumb. I know you've been put in iron banner games and it's like 19000-8000. Why would you stay?
-
2 RespuestasI will leave as many matches as i want to. When i am playing and everyone is redbarred from the start i am leaving. When the connections is great and then the heavy drops and magically so does the connection i am leaving because of flooders. When guys arent taking damage i am leaving. I DONT CARE!!!!! .-blam!-ing make me sit out or dont. I payed to play this game like everyone else and im not going to get pissed off because some fat ass -blam!- in his moms basement has no job or life and sits around all day making devices and ways to cheat and ruin everyone elses enjoyment. -blam!- you and -blam!- them and -blam!- everybody who has to cheat to win.

life is to short to be stuck in a match with cheaters laggers and idiots as far as punishment goes , Dont threaten me with a good time

4 RespuestasEditado por Six: 8/31/2015 9:59:57 AMA mercy rule in being implemented in 2.0 so this should help with that. I think allot of what you're experiencing is elitism. On destiny tracker, a players DTR(True Skill) in a certain playlist is mostly(but not restricted to) K/D ratio, Games Played, Win % of games. Whenever someone joins in a game that is down by 6k and its seemingly like there is no way to turn it around. They will leave the game to avoid any harm to their win % in that playlist. Although, this idea of yours will never be implemented by Bungie due to 1 ever dynamic variable. Real Life. You do not know what is going on in the other person's life/house right then, neither does Bungie.

7 RespuestasHypothetical situation, little Johnny comes running in to daddy with a spoon stuck in his eye, put there by his brother. Does daddy: A, run to the aid of his child Or B, continue to play because he will get a debuff or ban. Extreme I know but you get the idea. Lol

3 RespuestasEditado por Lee C Miller: 8/31/2015 9:23:08 AMOnly way to avoid this from happening is to go to LFG and set up a fire team of 6. It's actually really good when you get in with a good bunch of players. I started quitting games when other people quit. I can understand why people do quit. There is no reward for finishing top of your team when the rest of them suck. Bungie said they fixed it, Hmmm I have loads of screen prints showing the bottom two players being rewarded ALL the time!!

6 RespuestasEditado por alcatraz669: 8/31/2015 9:26:11 AMSo we all know bungies servers are trash..hell the iron banner is lagapolooza yet you wanna punish people for not putting up with it...-blam!- that I will not stay in a laggy as fuk lobby...they wanna match me up with a bunch of Latin Americans....I'm quitting
-
2 RespuestaslPeople had the same complaint with trials. Now when you leave a match you have an automatic loss. Now when I get forced out of a game by a hacker I am forced to have a loss on my card regardless of mercy. What says that won't happen to me in banner or skirmish, and let's not forget about the peopLe that are stuck with sub par internet because of location. Do we get punished for you whining, for reasons out of our control we leave a match and am barred for a half hour from what we want to play.
-
2 RespuestasIt's mostly the lag and connection are shirt and you raiders who boot for this glad when you go back to cod
-
3 RespuestasThat is about the stupidest suggestion I've heard. If your team is losing to pub stompers mlg elitist players you should be able to leave. Or something happens to a player in their personal life and they have to get offline. Look it's a game stop taking it so seriously!!!
-
6 RespuestasI agree. Leaving by going to orbit is detectable and can be acted upon. Punishment could be a debuff or temp ban (5 mins?). Disconnects are harder, it could be caused by server or the client which makes it harder to detect. Afk is detectable (standing still for a period of time) and those players can be send back to orbit. Also the mechanics for joining a match in progress needs to be improved for this to work. It happens too often (for me) that im in a unbalanced match.
-
14 RespuestasI don't think they should punish quitters. And here's why. If you're playing with the type of person that going to quit because of the map/spawn/size of opposing fireteam/etc, let them quit. If they know they'll be punished for quitting, they're not going to think "well, might as well try my best!" No, they're going to hide in corners for the entire map. Why not let the people that will anchor your team down leave and get replaced with people that will help?
-
Are you a bit mental mate the connection is all over the place I play for fun and if the fact non dedicated servers are killing me then I am out of the game you filthy lag leader.

10 RespuestasWhat if they have to leave? For like food or a party or a wedding or a funeral?
