  • What is it you dont like about a post like this? I can kind of guess but thought I would ask you to see how well you can reason your objection to it.

Because these posts do nothing in regards of changing the content as the OP suggests. Games development is not a thing of a few days/weeks. By the time preordering starts the game/DLC is finished 95 to 99 percent and the development team is in it's final stages of debugging/fine tuning.

For example something like optional matchmaking could be put in very quickly though as they already have the infrastructure there they would just have to apply it to all evdnts instead of a select few. This is an example of something that might be used if pre orders are low to entice people to buy. Also a price drop is also another lasr minute option to bump up presale numbers. Not saying this would happen just it is an option to them that they may consider if pre sales are really low. I agree they cant make dramatic changes this late but small changes that the community has been asking for are always a possiblity a few weeks out. Price enticement is really the only last days option but not likely. Its more likely a month or 2 after. They could also add to the pre order bonuses potentially. Off point but anyone else make this connection. They remove exp bonuses from the nightfall as they dont want the weekly reset ritual of running the 3 nightfalls for the xp boost first thing come reset. So now our only option for xp boost is the collection edition bonus items for $20. Sneaky little bungie. Thought they could slip that by with no one noticing... oh that also makes another reason to hold of pre buying as enough pressure then they may cave and give us those items for free or a reduced cost. Not likely but the option is possible. Seen as thats the objection to the post that changes arent possibke this late. Well little ones, price and bonus items clearly are but just unlikely given the apathy and division of the community.

You really believe Crota and VoG would work with the match making as it is now in strikes? A clan mate and me took four "virgins" into the vault tonight and it took roughly 2 hours with all the explaining. Now imagine six of those without communication. They wouldn't get past the confluxes, hell they might not even be able to build the conflux and open the door... It wouldn't take long and the first would drop out without saying anything. If something is in the works to solve this LFG "problem" Bungie won't tell us anything until it's properly working. You don't raise hopes when you're not sure that you won't have to let them down again for whatever reason. However it won't be the matchmaking we now have.

  • Yeah lfg matchmaking doesnt really solve it. Its still pretty random the quality of people you end up with. Assuming everyone would have no mics in optional matchmaking and everyone has mics in lfg is grossly inaccurate, you know it and is a poor defense for its lack of inclusion. Also there is no evidence either way to say optional matchmaking would be better or worse. The key point is even if it is worse well its optional and we can still go to an outside lfg to try find a better group. Anyway back to the point of inclusion of matchmaking without us having any actual experience in game programming I would have to agree that its possible implimenting it for a raid would likely be impossible at this late stage if they were having to start from scratch. Since its the only point you dispute I gather you agree the others could be implimented at a late stage.
