Destiny isn't a MMO

Prove me wrong Just leaving this here
A massively multiplayer online game (MMO or MMOG) is a multiplayer video game which is capable of supporting large numbers of players simultaneously. By necessity, they are played over a network, such as the Internet. MMOs usually have at least one persistent world, however some games differ.
I said prove me wrong not say that it is. Edit: This is a RPG, people seem to mix up MMO with RPG, and the combination of both called a MMORPG.
A role-playing game (RPG and sometimesroleplaying game) is a game in which players assume the roles of characters in a fictional setting. Players take responsibility for acting out these roles within a narrative, either through literal acting or through a process of structured decision-making or character development. Actions taken within many games succeed or fail according to a formalsystem of rules and guidelines. There are several forms of RPG. The original form, sometimes called the tabletop RPG, is conducted through discussion, whereas in live action role-playing games (LARP) players physically perform their characters' actions. In both of these forms, an arranger called agame master (GM) usually decides on the rules and setting to be used and acts as referee, while each of the other players plays the role of a single character. Several varieties of RPG also exist in electronic media, such as multi-player text-based MUDs and their graphics-based successors, massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs). Role-playing games also include single-player offline role-playing video games in which players control a character or team who undertake quests, and may include capabilities that advance using statistical mechanics. These games often share settings and rules with tabletop RPGs, but emphasize character advancement more than collaborative storytelling. Despite this variety of forms, some game forms such as trading card games andwargames that are related to role-playing games may not be included. Role-playingactivity may sometimes be present in such games, but it is not the primary focus. The term is also sometimes used to describeroleplay simulation games and exercises used in teaching, training, and academic research.
Edit #2 In favor of "The RockObama"
The only thing massive about Destiny is the massive amount of cut content.
Edit #3 Captain chaos wins a spot for being cool.
My Money is Obviously their target
Edit #4 AnDreason4511 coming in 3rd
Destiny isn't really any genre. It's fails to be a fps with no private games or a ranked matchmaking. Rps/rpg is out of the question do to lack of character progression through the story and character classes only have three choices for each skill or ability making class/sub. the only real difference between players. Honestly it shares more characteristics with MMOs then any other genre. No it doesn't have a hundred people on screen at any given moment but everyone is online. Not to mention the activities you do can be found in all MMO games. Bounties (daily quests) strikes (dungeons) and raids. Oh and the taken king is the equivalent to a MMO expansion.
Edit #5 For Groot
First you would have to properly define "large numbers" under the term MMO. Which you did not do. The world is persistent as showed by literally every video of Destiny that shows non-fire team players nearby. As each game that claims to be an MMO has a different amount of allowed total players, "large numbers" under the term MMO is very hard, if not impossible to properly define. So, you're arguing a point that can't be argued against, thus making this debate one-sided.
