Gjallarhorn needed a nerf.
Gjallarhorn clearly needed a nerf. When you have a weapon that causes a must have max Gjally elitist mentality, or can burn pretty much any boss without modifiers, that's when you know you have a problem. The weapon is clearly overpowered and broken, the nerf was bound to happen. They're only nerfing the wolfpack rounds by a small margin, and the weapon will still be the best more than likely.
Cry me a river, build a bridge, and get the heck over it.
Black hammer on the other hand, that wasn't a weapon in need of a nerf.

I've heard from a couple of people his bonds can be broken on the first servitor post-nerf with Gallys, but I've never seen it done. (For that matter, apparently he can be beaten with melees and shoulder-charge; should we nerf all guns?) Gjallarhorn isn't overpowered or broken; the community is what's broken. This is the same community that posts "Lv 33+ ONLY!" for Vault of Glass raids! I agree the elitists on LFG only accepting Gally-users is a problem, but nerfing the Gjallarhorn to fix that is like changing the oil in your car to fix a flat tire: may be a good thing, maybe not, but regardless it does nothing to fix the problem at hand.

Why couldn't they implement an "anti burn" or something. Mix up new content without bastardizing the classic content. This is just off the top of my head people of bungie. Forge a piece of desirable exotic armor that negates thorn burn. Give us more options instead of taking away content.

The people who feel they [i]need[/i] Gjallys to get through endgame activities will now be even more stingy with allowing those in that don't have one. No longer can one person with Gjally cover the damage output of another without it, and thus it will become a requirement for everyone in the fireteam. The nerf that they thought would diminish its exclusivity is actually going to promote [i]more[/i] elitism. Repost this everywhere you can so bungie understands why when the patch drops people become even more frustrated and excluded from raids and other things.

5 RespuestasOr people just make friends instead of relying on LFG. The nerf had NOTHING to do with "elitism" and if you think that you are dense. It has to do with the hours played. They nerfed black hammer because "Currently it is the only Sniper Rifle that is more capable of ending a PvE boss faster than Ice Breaker." Same reason the nerfed Gally, because players were spending less time beating bosses then Bungie wanted. It's all about kissing investors asses at the expense of customers. That's exactly how I feel about it. 6 months no weapons balancing while many players abandoned ship. Remaining players get screwed. Thanks Bungie. Really feel like that was money well spent. (SUPER amounts of sarcasm)
