Traditional....man it's so vague. It can mean everything, or it can end up meaning nothing.
I got a ps4, not much to play so I'll prob still give it a shot. I know you follow NMS a lot, I'm always hoping some random day I'll check the forums and find a thread you made with all the info to get me hyped up lol.

They may not even do it if the player base doesn't want it enough, or if they simply don't want to. But I'm guessing traditional would mean an easier way of meeting your friends and more interactions with them. Someone else made a big thread full of all kinds of links to articles and videos, but I don't know if it was updated after this E3 or not. I've been posting videos and articles from IGN's coverage this month though, but the recent ones were more about Hello Games than No Man's Sky, so I didn't post them. I figured most people would just want to hear more about the game itself.

Do you think most people don't want it? I feel like most people think it's already in thr game until someone says it's not. That's the only reason I posted info about it being absent. I'm still pretty curious about the game tho. I think it woulda been so badass jf you could stumble onto worlds with existing civilisations though. Do you think you'll have more fun solo vs ci op in such a game? Or would both be really nice?

I think a lot of people who don't know much about it really just want multiplayer, and are disappointed and won't buy it because there is none. However, on the subreddit for the game, most of the people don't really mind that there is no multiplayer, and some actually prefer no multiplayer. So I think that most people probably want it, however the people that are really dedicated to it and who will be playing the most either don't mind or don't want it. I think it's great that it's going to be pretty much solo at first, but I would like some kind of easier multiplayer at some point. One of the main things they're trying to show by not adding multiplayer is the feeling of complete loneliness in space, and I really like that.

That last movie comparison to a game was kinda weird. What I'm getting at is the whole thrill of the "what ifs" The mysteries of the world, where did it start, where are we from, where are we heading....are there others? Friend or foe? I'm infatuated with space, life, and death. Lol call me weird I guess. Haha
-
Yeah, I'm not really sure how that relates to the game much, but I will say that one of the reasons I'm so excited as well is because I love space and astronomy. And since I can't really explore our universe, this is the next best thing. (I would have Elite: Dangerous, but I don't own an Xbox or a good enough PC)

Just meaning on one hand there's possibilities of life and all that comes with
refferring to intelligent life
which is a massive addition, on the other hand there's no possibility of intelligent life in the universe. In NMS , the possibility isn't there. That's why I brought those movies up. One's open to add to, the mystery(s) are there. The other movie they're not since it's not about that. Yea man. I'm right there with you...marveling at the stars....have you watched interstellar?
-
Ok, I wasn't too sure what you were trying to say at first. And no, I haven't watched it, I'm not much of a movie person. I've played a lot of Kerbal Space Program though.
-
Dude...you deffinitely gotta watch it. There's no other movie like it imo.

But isn't replicating lonliness in an exploration game kinda boring?...idk...lonliness in a horror game surrounded by insane monsters sounds awesome, but lonliness in NMS idk. I guess I'd have to try it. Its sorta like this to me. The movie gravity The movie interstellar Ones about lonliness, the others about the survival of mankind but feint hints that we may not be alone. Although the plot has a massive hole in it, I loved interstellar while gravity I didn't bother watching. Im assuming its about lonliness stranded in space, maybe I'm wrong.

It could be boring, but I don't think it sounds boring. I'd have to play it to find out, but there is more to do on the game than just explore. They don't want to go too far into detail so that player can discover what they want to do on their own. In one of the IGN videos this month, they talked about some of the roles you can play like mining and trading resources, or being a pirate and just fighting people in space. They even said you can play the entire game without ever even landing on a planet if you want to. And I don't think it's about being stranded in space as much as surviving in a universe.
