It will literally never work. People are going to buy the game, and you will never be able to talk them out of it. So it's an unrealistic goal.
But if you're looking to make a collective voice heard that enough is enough, what you should be asking for is people to hold off on preordering. The game industry uses these numbers to project success of a certain product over a timeline, much like the movie industry.
You want to see them squirm? Convince people not to buy collector's editions and not to preorder. Your work is cut out for you. Good luck.
I'll even help by not preordering anything.

Been trying to get people not pre order. It doesn't work. People want to actively work against themselves as consumers.

1 Respuesta"I'll even help by not preordering anything." So you're buying it on release day then? lol
-
I plan on buying TTK plus the swag pack, because you know what, I LIKE SWAG and I like Destiny. But yeah, no way am I gonna preorder it. Fuck preorders.

I played destiny from launch I thought it was a good game In the beginning then it got boring then HOW came out and I wanted to play a little more but it got boring again then I plugged my 360 back in and began playing Halo Reach and I had more fun playing that then I have in 9 months of destiny so the taken king can suck a fat one.

i don't need to boycott a video game. I simply won't buy it. It's not that serious. I can buy something else. Now i think it's bad business the way they've done this but change dot org petitions and stuff i've seen are crazy. i'm not that bent out of shape. i'll play till something else comes and i'll move on.

27 RespuestasEditado por ZetaScorpii: 6/24/2015 4:05:09 PMPeople think it's cheap to create video games and DLC. This ain't the dollar menu kids, pay to play or take up a new hobby.

So many problems in the world people talking about a video game boycott. What a shame
-
Even if some people don't buy it right away will be enough to show bungee their players are not hsppy.., you don't need everyone on board just a percentage
-
5 RespuestasOr if everyone is "really upset" over this the biggest statement of all would be for everyone to band together and actually stop playing it even for 1 day as a way of showing solidarity. But that is unrealistic as well. The other day I played with a random guy and I brought up this topic of TTK "collector's edition" not fair to us long time players and the guy says "I already preordered it, if I really want something and can afford it I'll buy it, I don't care about the price" now that kind of thinking is why bungie will still do these kinda money grabs because more likely than not people will still buy this even if they don't agree, which I think is stupid.

Be quiet desticiple BOYCOTTING BOYCOTTING!!! Rabble! rabble!

I'm never pre-ordering anything again.

43 RespuestasI'm not sure why a boycott is needed. - Because the price is more than some people want to pay? Okay, so don't buy it. You don't have to organize a boycott. Just don't buy it. Is $40 to much for the content? Based on what we've seen before, probably. But it's also not a ridiculous amount, and it doesn't seem worth boycotting. - Because new players are going to get a discount on a year old game? That's hardly a new practice. If you're surprised by this you haven't been paying attention to the video game industry for the last 15 years. - Because a few odds and ends in game items are only available if you repurchase the game? That does suck, and seems like a missed opportunity on Bungie's part. So either buy the Collector's Edition or don't. That's up to you. If you miss out on those items it's not the end of the world. - Because someone who works at Bungie gave a bad interview where he kind of comes of like an idiot? So what? How easily offended are you? - Because Bungie isn't rewarding your customer loyalty? What loyalty? You made a single purchase . In return you got a game which you've been able to play for months. Why are you expecting more? Why are you expecting to be rewarded? Where does this entitlement come from? Yes, it's nice to get free stuff. Yes, it's strange when Bungie packages content you might want in a package that's only attractive to new players. It's not the end of the world though. - Because you don't like ToO or PoO? Because you can't get to the lighthouse? Because certain, Raids, Maps, Weapons or Missions are glitched, nerfed or whatever? Because Xur didn't sell what you wanted this week? All of those things suck. All of those things are worth being mildly annoyed by. Or even a little upset by. None of them are worth a boycott. Just like the original Destiny release wasn't worth a class action lawsuit. Seriously guys!

Editado por AJIc3CoLd: 6/24/2015 3:01:07 PMYou can't come to the crack den and tell people not to do drugs. That's just not going to work. Goto a sensible place like the Destiny subreddit and express your ideas there, people actually engage in civil conversation and don't blindly berate you in defense of their supplier.
-
Furthermore, there are so many millions of players that aren't on the forums. Just saying.

17 RespuestasThe problem is that those of us who have put hundreds of hours in will preorder it because we're 'dumb' or 'bungie fanboys' but its not up to other people to try and convince us that what we're doing is stupid or that we shouldn't do it. I've got nothing against anyone who does boycott it or doesn't preorder it, that's your choice and your life, but I do enjoy the game and those who don't can't tell me how to spend my money :)
-
1 RespuestaDoesn't matter. I won't give up my seat white man. You can kill our Malcolm Xs and our MLKs but you can't kill our freedom. I HAVE A DREAM, that gaming corporations will stop taking advantage of gamers and making them spend a shit ton of money. I HAR A DREAM
-
It's easy enough for me just to not play destiny ever again, plenty of games out to keep me entertained as destiny kills destiny lolol
-
12 RespuestasBetter idea than a boycott- DO NOT PLAY with anyone who sports the special Collector's edition gear/ shaders/ exclusive crap. Kick them from your teams. It will punish those who backed this asinine marketing scheme and truly do what any online game company doesn't want. A truly fractured and divided community.
-
I already pre ordered :-)
-
No way it would work. Alot of people wait for the compilation games at a cheaper price. There will be even more new people playing than this past Xmas, which is a good thing. Not really sure why everyone's in such an uproar over it. Just wait to see what the reviews are and then just get the DLC if you already own the game. Makes no sense to buy the CD with the original game plus 2 DLC's if you already have them, and for the pitiful exclusives, not worth it. I know alot of you don't agree, your choice, just stating my opinion. Cheers
-
10 RespuestasYa after Destiny's initial launch I vowed never to pre order a game again. I'm sticking to that
