I recently joined an LFG team who posted that they were stuck at Atheon and looking for an experienced player. I message the poster and quickly receive a party invite. In hindsight, I probably should have interpretted the 8+ hour elapsed party chat time as a red flag.
First teleport; I take the relic. The 2 oracle killers insist on staying far enough apart that I'm forced to waste 10 seconds of DPS time cleansing them individually before leaving the portal and jumping to the center platform. Inexplicably, one botches his jump and falls screaming into the void. The other 4 join me inside the aegis bubble and as I'm silently counting down our abysmal 8 seconds of remaining Time's Vengeance I see 3 of them switch to their launchers..
*Guardian Down*
*Guardian Down*
*Guardian Down*
I think I'll add a new requirement to all future LFG posts.
LFG for VoG. Must understand jump mechanics and know not to fire rockets into obstacles, point blank.

5 RespuestasBack in the day, lvl 29 vanilla guardians ran VOG on hard (legit) from start to finish with legendary weapons only. Players are spoiled with this LFG must be 33+ with Gjally bullshit! Learn the tactics! Join decent clans!
-
1 RespuestaMy friend and I joined a person who needed help with Atheon Hard. We wiped over 6 times because some guy kept messing up his jumping, another guy who kept dropping relic, we got killed by Oracles because everyone else was taking their sweet ass time to shoot them and another guy who was using The Last Word. After a while we just said "fuck it".

5 RespuestasI dealt with a few last night that weren't very good. Yet had gallys and thought gallys were the answer to everything. Until we ran into atheon

LOL. Guardian down!

86 RespuestasNot a request to join a raid, just a question. I have never done VOG or CE and probably never will, but does the fact that many of you have come across idiots, mean that you would never take a newbie into a raid. I ask because there are probably many people out there like me who would raid but are worried about teaming up with the players you avoid for the same reasons. I am 55 and until December I had never played an online multiplayer in my life, and I respect all you guys that have done these raids and jealous as **** of your raid weapons especially when you make me look pretty useless on a weekly heroic when I'm firing 10 bullets to your one, but I just think its a shame that the newbies and knobs that you have encountered have put you off giving the genuine "want to learns" a chance.

12 RespuestasA way to tell is by the weapons they use. 98% of groups I've ran hard vog with all used vision of Confluence. It's both proof that youve at least beaten it before and also probably the best primary to use in the vault. Bad signs are people using anything other than a sniper rifle at the templar and Atheon.
-
I will readily admit that I've rocketed myself in the aegis more times then I care to admit. Now I don't bother going into the bubble most of the time, just stay in the far back if using rockets. People not clumping for a cleanse is so damned annoying though.

2 RespuestasHad the same sort of thing last night, no one apart from me and my mate knew how to use the relic but the best bit was that some lad kept asking if he could shoot atheon with the gally, I asked the team if everyone had one and no they didn't, so I tell him 'no, use a sniper'. Next teleport happens, we get to the middle and BANG 'guardian down' the stupid idiot shot his gally in the bubble! What is it with all these noobs in VoG recently? I don't mind helping noobs but it's so frustrating when they act like they know what they're doing, it's so much easier to know you need help and advice!

3 RespuestasOR you could teach them the raid... How are people supposed to learn?
-
I'll help u with VoG
-
HAHAHAHAHAHA fell screaming into the void oh god that was funny

1 RespuestaWe only started raiding in November and spent hours and hours on each stage until we all new every stage inside out. Keep in mind that weapons were painfull to come by and all I had was a Lord High Fixer, an Arc Light Beware, and a Solar Big Friendly Giant. And we perfected our runs, very very slowly improving our weapons as the drop rate was slow especialy for armour. Most of all we enjoyed it.

23 RespuestasEditado por Zarevil: 6/13/2015 8:24:50 PMBest way to get only good players is to require at least 3 flawless ToO runs and more than one fully leveled Gjallarhorn. Also flawless rider is pretty good sign and additionally for all that, boot if you dont have Mark of The unbroken.

4 RespuestasI've seen worse on LFG. 34s only for Crota normal and must have maxed dragons breath. I messaged the poster and he said he was planning on pushing Crota off the platform...
-
Lol. That's why you only VoG with vanilla players.
-
Yeah VoG is so bad now. My boy and I had to carry a group of kids who talked like they knew what they were doing. NONE had VoG weapons and one kid with a Vex(probably just a little lucky fcuker) thought he knew everything bout the raid.
-
3 RespuestasIf you're not 34 with max Gally, just have it, you aren't staying in my lobby. If you use your Gally during VoG you're not staying in my lobby If you don't have a mic, have a mic but talk too much, have a mic but rarely talk, have a better sounding voice than me, you're not staying in my lobby. Need 5 for VoG normal thx

2 RespuestasWe did vault on hard with only like 2 34s earlier and it was 2 of the guys first time we did pretty good took us like 2hrsish i think
-
I know your pain...Skolas and that solar burn that most players don't seem to understand. At least that nightmare is over on tuesday.
-
11 Respuestaslol I remember the days of beating it with a bunch of 29s these new guardians are soft
-
1 RespuestaOne doesn't just use Rockets on Atheon, AT ALL, use a freaking sniper or Scout.
-
2 RespuestasAny fool can get to 34 using the all strength stat armor Variks is peddling. Don't judge a book by its cover. Just like just cause someone's a 32 (still) doesn't mean they aren't a damn good player. Even if they are a filthy casual. (Me)
-
7 RespuestasOh man... I can feel your pain. VoG noobs are the worse. I thought 32s that couldn't do it was bad during TDB, but with HoW... It's much, much, much more worse. Is Grimoire really the only thing left that can tell someone about their skill?
-
I don't know what's worse, taking 8 hours for vog or not figuring out after 8 hours rockets+bubble=bad. How the heck can you be 34 and not know how a titan bubble or the atheon bubble are not rocket friendly. Probably some 8 year old using his 12 year old brother's account. I would have bailed from that game/party asap after that stupidity.
-
10 RespuestasThis is what's wrong with this game now, it's way too easy to hit 34. You should have to run vog to get 30 level gear, crota for 32 then prison of elders for 34.
